Perez (elbow) will start at designated hitter and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Perez went unused off the bench during the Royals' previous two games while managing a sore elbow, but he's made enough improvement to re-enter the starting nine in a non-defensive capacity. Assuming Perez's elbow provides no complications for him during Sunday's contest, he should be available to make starts at catcher or at first base at some point during the upcoming week.

Sandoval (biceps) allowed one hit and one walk while striking out seven over five scoreless innings in a rehab start for Double-A Portland on Saturday.

Sandoval pushed his pitch count up to 68 (43 strikes) in what was his sixth and final start in the minors since he resumed a rehab assignment June 5. The veteran southpaw was generally sharp during the assignment, posting a 1.96 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 18:6 K:BB across 18.1 innings. With his 30-day rehab window coming to a close, Sandoval is expected to return from the 60-day injured list to slot into the Red Sox rotation Thursday against the White Sox in Chicago or Friday against the Mets in New York. He'll be making his first appearance in the majors since June 2024, after he underwent internal brace surgery later that summer and experienced other injury complications in the ensuing two years.

McMahon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

The veteran third baseman returned from the injured list Friday after missing time due to a throat and ear infection, and he went 1-for-5 with two walks, a double and two runs in his first two games back in the lineup. McMahon will rest for Sunday's series finale, which allows Anthony Volpe to start at shortstop while Jose Caballero mans third base.

Martin allowed one hit and struck out one over a scoreless inning in Saturday's 3-0 loss to Detroit.

Martin was reinstated from the injured list Saturday and was used immediately. It's been a rough season for the 40-year-old right-hander, who has spent two stints on the IL and carries a 7.15 ERA through 13 outings (11.1 innings). He was considered a candidate for closing duties coming out of training camp, but Martin is still looking for his first save of 2026, and he might never get one given how well Jacob Latz (18 saves and an All-Star nod) has pitched in that role.

Junis received an injection Saturday for the hip impingement that landed him on the injured list, MLB.com reports.

Junis, who was bothered by the issue over the prior week, was placed on the injured list Saturday retroactive to July 1. The club is hoping he will be able to return immediately after the All-Star break.

Fedde is expected to pitch in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Chris Murphy in Sunday's game against the Guardians, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

On Saturday, the Guardians lineup featured left-handed hitters or switch hitters in the top seven spots, so the White Sox will have the left-handed Murphy open the series finale with the aim of forcing Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt to adjust his batting order. Murphy will likely work the first inning or two before handing the ball over to the right-handed Fedde, who owns a 4.33 ERA and 1.58 WHIP over his eight appearances out of the bullpen this season.

The Yankees recalled Chivilli from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.

The right-hander was called up to the Yankees in mid-April and made two appearances before going down with a shoulder injury, and he was optioned to Triple-A once he recovered from the injury in June. Chivilli has been lights out for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with a 1.08 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB across 16.2 innings.

Murphy will serve as the White Sox's opener for Sunday's game against the Guardians, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Murphy will make his second start of the season but is expected to work just one or two innings before bulk reliever Erick Fedde takes over. Through 18 appearances with Chicago, Murphy has compiled a 3.79 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 18:10 K:BB across 19 innings.

The Rays recalled Englert from Triple-A Durham to start Sunday against the Astros.

The right-hander spent the past few weeks in the minors and will rejoin Tampa Bay to start Sunday's series finale in Houston. It'll be just the second big-league start of the season for Englert, though he was utilized as a long reliever during his most recent stint in the majors in early June, when he made two appearances and allowed one run on eight hits and two walks with six strikeouts over nine innings. For the season, the 26-year-old has a 3.96 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 19:6 K:BB across 25 big-league innings.

Bibee mentioned the greater use of his sinker as the main reason for his recent turnaround, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. "It just feels like a real weapon, where I can really lean on it to get quick outs," the right-hander said Friday. "Or I still can have guys freeze on it... It opens up a lot of stuff."

Bibee, who is Sunday's scheduled starter against the White Sox, changed up his pitch mix following a disastrous outing against the Nationals on May 25, when he gave up seven runs and five home runs over three innings. In the six starts since then, he's made throwing the sinker a priority, using it 37.2 percent of the time, and the change has resulted in a 2.29 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 28:8 K:BB over 39.1 innings. The sinker has also made his four-seamer and cutter more effective, as his opponents' batting average and hard-hit rates have dropped against each pitch. What would really help Bibee, who is 2-9 over 18 starts, is more help from his teammates; his 2.78 runs of support ranks 133rd out of 136 pitchers with at least 10 starts.
