Zack Short SS | NYM
Tigers' Zack Short: Scores, drives in run Friday
Short went 0-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 4-3, 10-inning loss to the White Sox.
That Short managed to score and drive in a run without recording a hit is fairly impressive, though his .125 batting average would have benefitted from a few base knocks. The 31-year-old has provided some infield depth in Detroit with Gleyber Torres (oblique) and Javier Baez (ankle) both currently out, though Short doesn't offer a ton of fantasy appeal with his limited offensive production.

Angel Martinez LF | CLE
Guardians' Angel Martinez: Contributes with bat, arm
Martinez went 1-for-4 with an RBI and had an outfield assist in Friday's 4-3 win over the Red Sox.
Martinez made an impact early in the game. He singled in the Guardians' third run in their four-run first inning and then gunned down Mickey Gasper at the plate an inning later. He's cooled off during the month of May (.225 average), but Martinez has maintained a run-producing bat and remains a regular in the starting lineup, either in left or right field. His 29 RBI and 19 extra-base hits are second on the club.

Taylor Rogers RP | MIN
Twins' Taylor Rogers: Blows save Friday
Rogers (1-2) blew the save and took the loss Friday, coughing up two runs on two hits in one-third of an inning as the Twins fell 6-5 to the Pirates. He struck out one.
The veteran lefty got the call in the ninth inning to protect a 5-4 lead, but instead he served up a walk-off homer to Bryan Reynolds. It was Rogers' first blown save of the year, and through 21.2 innings he carries a shaky 4.15 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 17:6 K:BB. The back of Minnesota's bullpen remains a mess, but Rogers' experience will probably allow him to remain in the high-leverage mix -- he's tied for the team lead in both holds (six) and saves (two).

Taj Bradley SP | MIN
Twins' Taj Bradley: Escapes Pittsburgh with no-decision
Bradley didn't factor into the decision Friday as the Twins were downed 6-5 by the Pirates, giving up four runs on five hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out six.
The Bucs ambushed Bradley for three runs in the bottom of the first inning, including a solo shot by Oneil Cruz, but the right-hander was able to hang around long enough to give the Twins 87 pitches (51 strikes) before getting the hook. Bradley has issued multiple free passes in seven straight starts dating back to April 12, posting a 4.12 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 43:17 K:BB in 39.1 innings during that span. He'll look to bounce back in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Royals.

Brandon Nimmo RF | TEX
Rangers' Brandon Nimmo: Launches two-run homer
Nimmo went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and two strikeouts in Friday's win over the Royals.
Nimmo gave the Rangers a 6-0 lead in the fifth inning with a two-run shot that also scored Josh Jung. The veteran outfielder has hit safely in seven of his last 10 games, a stretch in which he has three homers, eight RBI and six runs scored while posting a strong .925 OPS.

MacKenzie Gore SP | TEX
Rangers' MacKenzie Gore: Tosses 6.1 scoreless frames Friday
Gore (4-4) earned the win Friday against the Royals after tossing 6.1 scoreless innings. He allowed four hits and a walk while striking out three.
Gore's strikeout numbers are trending in the wrong direction, as he's fanned three or fewer in four of his last six starts, but he has the stuff to improve in that regard as the season goes on. Gore has been putting up good results of late despite the modest swing and miss, giving up one run or fewer while pitching at least six frames in three of his last four outings, with the exception being an abbreviated one-inning outing due to lat tightness. In six May appearances, Gore owns a 3.56 ERA and 1.06 WHIP across 30.1 innings. He should make his next start against the Cardinals on the road.

Stephen Kolek SP | KC
Royals' Stephen Kolek: Tagged with loss Friday
Kolek (3-1) was tagged with the loss Friday against the Rangers after allowing six runs (four earned) on six hits and a walk across five innings. He struck out five.
Kolek tossed 60 of his 91 pitches for strikes, but he gave up four runs, including a two-run homer to Brandon Nimmo, before the end of the first inning. He settled down afterwards, but Kolek didn't receive support from an offense that mustered just one run throughout the game. Despite this subpar outing, Kolek remains a capable-if-not-dominant arm in the Royals' rotation with a 3.48 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in five starts so far. He's slated to make his next start on the road against the Reds.

Miguel Vargas 3B | CHW
White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Plays hero in Friday's win
Vargas went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double and three total RBI in Friday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Tigers.
Vargas came through when the White Sox needed him the most and launched a walk-off, two-out homer in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Chicago a much-needed win against a division rival. Vargas has been one of the most productive hitters for the White Sox in 2026. He has 13 homers, nine doubles, 34 RBI, 41 runs scored, nine stolen bases and an .850 OPS across 56 games. He's been particularly hot since the beginning of May, launching seven homers and posting a .901 OPS across 26 contests.

Bryan Hudson RP | CHW
White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Earns win in relief Friday
Hudson (3-1) earned the win in relief in Friday's extra-inning win over the Tigers. He allowed an unearned run and struck out one over one inning of work.
Hudson pitched the 10th inning and saw the Tigers grab the lead when Matt Vierling scored on a sac fly from Rikuu Nishida. However, Hudson earned the win after the White Sox stormed back with a walk-off homer from Miguel Vargas in the bottom of the frame. Hudson has gone six straight outings without allowing an earned run, and he's given up just three runs (two earned) across 13.1 innings this month, a span in which he has a 1.35 ERA with an outstanding 0.90 WHIP.
