Miles is expected to pitch in bulk relief behind opener Braydon Fisher in Thursday's game against the Yankees, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Though he's not yet been used as a traditional starter, Miles appears to have temporarily settled in as the fifth member of the Toronto rotation. While serving as an opening pitcher May 10 against the Angels and as a bulk reliever this past Saturday in Detroit, Miles covered 6.2 scoreless frames while striking out seven batters and allowing six baserunners. The rookie right-hander tossed a season-high 56 pitches his last time out, so the Blue Jays could have him build on that workload during Thursday's appearance.

Fisher will serve as the Blue Jays' opening pitcher for Thursday's game against the Yankees, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander will work as an opener for the second time this season, after he previously tossed one inning in a starting role April 17 in Arizona. Fisher hasn't recorded more than six outs in any of his 24 appearances on the season, so expect him to work between one and two innings Thursday before exiting the game. Spencer Miles is expected to work in bulk relief behind Fisher.

Yates was charged with a blown save after retiring two batters and allowing one run on one hit and one walk in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Athletics.

Upon being activated May 5 following a season-opening stint on the injured list due to left knee inflammation, Yates was deployed in lower-leverage spots for each of his first four appearances with the Angels. After the veteran right-hander tossed a pair of clean innings while striking out four of the six batters he faced over his last two outings, manager Kurt Suzuki felt comfortable turning to Yates on Wednesday to protect a one-run lead in the top of the ninth inning. Yates immediately squandered the opportunity, serving up a leadoff home run to Jeff McNeil to tie the game. He was able to induce a groundout and then struck out Lawrence Butler, but Yates was pulled from the game after putting two more runners on via a walk and hit batsmen. Though the Angels' closer situation remains unsettled, Yates' poor showing Wednesday could hurt his case for seeing another save chance anytime soon.

Manzardo is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Tigers.

Detroit's starting pitcher, Casey Mize, throws right-handed but has extreme reverse splits this season, so the left-handed-hitting Manzardo will take a seat for the second straight day. Rhys Hoskins will cover first base and bat cleanup as the Guardians try to complete the four-game sweep.

Speier (shoulder) began a rehab assignment with High-A Everett on Wednesday, allowing three runs on three hits, including two home runs, over one inning. He struck out two.

It's not the result Speier was looking for in his first game action in three weeks, but he did notch a couple strikeouts. The Mariners have not revealed a target date for Speier's activation from the 15-day injured list, but as long as he bounces back well, he could join Seattle for the start of its road trip Friday.

Meidroth went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored Wednesday against the Mariners.

Meidroth entered the game having gone only 1-for-15 across his last five games, though he did manage to record his fifth multi-hit game in 17 starts in May. While he has hit for average and also has 29 runs scored in 46 games, Meidroth has offered very little power or stolen base production, limiting his fantasy appeal.

Antonacci went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base Wednesday against the Mariners.

Antonacci reached base on a single in the third inning, stole second base and came around to score. He was pinch hit for in the ninth inning with a lefty on the mound, though he continued his solid run of recent production prior to being pulled. Since the start of May, Antonacci has hit .328 with three RBI, 11 runs scored and three stolen bases across 17 games.

Adell went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Athletics.

Adell has gone just 10-for-41 (.244) over his last 12 games, but eight of his hits in that span (three homers, five doubles) have gone for extra bases. In terms of pop, he's doing about as well as anyone in the Angels' lineup. The veteran outfielder is hitting .255 with a .701 OPS, seven homers, 28 RBI, 17 runs scored, seven doubles and two stolen bases over 50 contests. That said, he's unlikely to come anywhere near his 37-homer, 98-RBI campaign from 2025.

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Athletics.

Lowe went deep in the second inning, ending a stretch of 16 contests without a homer. He hit just .159 in that span and is batting a meager .182 with a .547 OPS across 130 plate appearances this season. The outfielder has added five homers, 14 RBI, eight runs scored, one stolen base and two doubles. He continues to fill a platoon role, but he doesn't offer enough upside to have much appeal in fantasy, especially since his value on the basepaths has dwindled.

Soler went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Athletics.

Soler struck early, with his homer coming off Aaron Civale in the first inning to tie the game at 2-2. This ended a stretch of 12 games without a long ball for Soler, who hit .163 and slugged .256 in that span. For the season, he's batting just .213 with a .729 OPS, nine homers, 30 RBI, 22 runs scored and nine doubles over 46 contests. While his performance isn't all that impressive, he's providing more pop than last season, when he totaled 12 home runs in 82 contests.
