Benson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies.

The left-handed-hitting Benson had been included in the lineup for each of the Reds' last six matchups with right-handed pitchers, but he'll hit the bench against Phillies righty Andrew Painter while Cincinnati goes with a starting outfield of JJ Bleday, TJ Friedl and Spencer Steer from left to right. Second baseman Matt McLain will occupy Benson's usual spot at the top of the batting order.

Marsh is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds.

With southpaw Nick Lodolo on the bump for Cincinnati, the Phillies will counter with a pair of extra right-handed bats. Marsh and fellow left-handed-hitter Kyle Schwarber will exit the starting nine, opening up spots for Otto Kemp in left field and Edmundo Sosa at third base in the series opener.

The Phillies haven't indicated that Schwarber is dealing with any sort of injury or illness coming out of their series in Pittsburgh over the weekend, so the slugger is presumably just getting a well-overdue day off while the Reds send lefty Nick Lodolo to the hill for the series opener. With Schwarber hitting the bench for the first time in 2026 starting in each of the Phillies' first 47 games, Bryce Harper will get a day off from playing first base and will occupy the designated-hitter spot.

The Phillies recalled Kemp from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday.

Philadelphia is scheduled to face off against a pair of lefty starters (Nick Lodolo and Andrew Abbott) during its three-game series with Cincinnati to begin the week, so Kemp will provide the big club with an extra right-handed bat. While he's up with the big club, Kemp could be a candidate to fill the short side of a platoon with Bryson Stott in the infield or Justin Crawford or Brandon Marsh in the outfield.

The Phillies optioned Reyes to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Reyes saw a decent amount of playing time initially upon his promotion last month, but he's hardly played lately with just one start over his team's last 10 games. Otto Kemp will grab the roster spot vacated by Reyes, who should receive more regular reps with Lehigh Valley.

The Mets transferred Minter (lat/hip) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of right-hander Daniel Duarte, who was called up from Triple-A Syracuse. The move doesn't alter Minter's timetable, as he's already spent nearly 60 days on the shelf, and his activation isn't imminent. Out all season while recovering from last year's lat surgery, Minter was pulled off his rehab assignment earlier this month because of left hip discomfort. He resumed his rehab this past Friday with a scoreless frame for Syracuse.

The Mets optioned Gerber to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.

Gerber did not make an appearance during his most recent brief stint with the big club. His spot on the roster and in the bullpen is being absorbed by Daniel Duarte.

The Mets selected Duarte's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Monday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Duarte had exercised the upward mobility clause in his contract, so the Mets either had to add him to the major-league roster or risk losing him to another organization. They chose the former after Duarte posted a 2.60 ERA and 14:9 K:BB over 17.1 innings with Syracuse. When/if Duarte makes an appearance, it will be his first at the big-league level since 2024.

Bogaerts went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run and two stolen bases in an 8-3 win against the Mariners on Sunday.

Bogaerts made the most of his lone time reaching base, swiping second and third base before coming around to score following a fifth-inning walk. He has two multi-steal games this season to account for more than half his seven total swipes. While he isn't the most thrilling fantasy shortstop, Bogaerts has been moderately productive, slashing .258/.331/.405 with seven home runs, 23 RBI and 22 runs to go along with the seven thefts.

The Nationals promoted King from Double-A Harrisburg to Triple-A Rochester on Monday, Spencer Nusbaum of The Athletic reports.

King struggled after being promoted to Harrisburg last season, but he's broken out in 2026, slashing .336/.427/.562 with five home runs, five stolen bases and a 22:31 BB:K in 35 games to earn a promotion to the Nationals' top affiliate. The 23-year-old has played shortstop almost exclusively in pro ball, but King has seen a bit of action at second base in 2026, and if he makes it to the majors this season, it could be as a second baseman.
