Cook will begin the season on the major-league roster, Jason Mackey of MLB.com reports.

Cook doesn't figure to draw starts often, but he'll serve as the fifth outfielder and should also be an emergency option at first base. Cook has had a solid spring, slugging two homers with seven RBI and seven runs scored in 19 games while reaching base at a .347 clip across 48 plate appearances.

Sears was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.

Sears will head to Triple-A after producing an 8.44 ERA and 1.69 WHIP with 10 strikeouts over 10.2 innings in four appearances, including two starts, with the Padres during spring training. The 30-year-old signed a one-year contract with San Diego in January, and he will now have to earn another shot with the major-league roster down the road.

Sheehan could operate in a hybrid role within the Dodgers' pitching rotation to open the season, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Sheehan may not slot in as a traditional starter in the rotation to open the season; either he or southpaw Justin Wrobleski will follow Shohei Ohtani in his starts. Sheehan piggybacking Ohtani's starts would allow the Dodgers to limit both of their workloads in the early portion of the 2026 campaign. Sheehan remains a high-upside starting pitcher for Los Angeles, and the team is expected to turn to a six-man rotation at some point early in the campaign, which could put Sheehan into a traditional starting role.

Kim will play every day and at multiple positions with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Michael Huntley of the Orange County Register reports.

Kim was sent down to Triple-A on Sunday, which came as a surprise to many, but manager Dave Roberts clarified the team's rationale. Roberts explained that the 27-year-old would not have seen consistent enough opportunities with the major-league roster, and the team felt that Kim would benefit from getting everyday work with Oklahoma City. Kim will get opportunities at second base, shortstop and center field with the Triple-A squad, per David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports. With the major-league club, Alex Freeland is expected to get the bulk of the starts at second base against right-handed pitchers in the absence of Tommy Edman (ankle).

The Padres reassigned Taylor to minor-league camp Tuesday.

The 27-year-old is expected to open the season at Triple-A El Paso after failing to win a utility spot with the Padres coming out of spring training. Taylor owns a .205/.272/.260 slash line over 83 career plate appearances in the big leagues across the past three seasons.

The Padres optioned Adcock to Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday.

Adcock failed to win an Opening Day roster spot in a deep Padres bullpen, despite letting in just one earned run on four hits and no walks over his four innings in Cactus League play. The 29-year-old righty has seen limited big-league action over the past three seasons between stops with the Mariners and Mets, logging a 5.48 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 19:4 K:BB in 23 innings.

The Padres reassigned Reyes to minor-league camp Saturday.

After failing to secure a spot on the Padres' Opening Day roster, Reyes is likely to begin the season as a utility player at Triple-A El Paso. The 32-year-old previously saw action in 19 games at the big-league level with the Yankees in 2025, slashing .194/.242/.226 over 34 plate appearances before being outrighted off the 40-man roster in June.

Nicolas was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.

Nicolas will head to Louisville after having appeared in one contest with the Reds during spring training, giving up one run on four walks over two-thirds of an inning. The right-hander was dealt to the Reds in exchange for outfielder Tyler Callihan on March 4, but he ultimately saw limited action during the spring with Cincinnati. Nicolas will now have to wait for his next chance with the major-league roster.

Amaya was reassigned to minor-league camp Sunday, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Amaya put together a productive spring training after joining Arizona as a non-roster invitee. The infielder batted .341 with two home runs, 10 RBI, 10 runs scored and three stolen bases over 44 at-bats in 17 contests. Amaya will likely begin the 2026 campaign with Triple-A Reno, and he certainly did enough during the spring to potentially warrant an elevation to the major-league roster down the road this season.

Abner was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Sunday, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Abner appeared in nine contests with Arizona during spring training, giving up five runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out 12 batters over 9.2 innings. The nine appearances is tied with fellow relief pitcher Ryan Thompson for the team lead to this point. Abner produced a 4.91 ERA and 2.18 WHIP with five strikeouts over 3.2 innings in five appearances with the Diamondbacks during the 2025 regular season, and he'll now wait for his next shot with the major-league roster.
