Norby went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Friday's loss to the Mets.

Activated off the IL earlier in the day after recovering from wrist surgery, Norby got the start at third base and batted sixth in his first big-league action since July 11. The 25-year-old will hold down the starting job at the hot corner until Graham Pauley (oblique) gets healthy, at which point the Marlins could have a tough decision to make -- Norby has a .244/.291/.368 slash line in 73 games this season, while Pauley had a .254/.371/.492 line in 26 games after getting called back up from Triple-A Jacksonville when Norby went down.

Suarez didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 2-1 win over Atlanta, allowing one run on 10 hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out two.

The lefty didn't have his best stuff and dealt with runners in scoring position during every inning he worked, but Suarez was able to limit the damage and leave the mound after 92 pitches (58 strikes) with the score tied 1-1. It was an abrupt fall back to earth after he'd struck out 23 batters in 13.2 innings while winning his prior two outings, but he appears to be back on track after stumbling to a 6.59 ERA over his first five trips to the mound coming out of the All-Star break. Suarez faces a tough challenge in his next start, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Milwaukee.

Elder came away with a no-decision Friday as Atlanta fell 2-1 to the Phillies, allowing one run on three hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out three.

The right-hander held a very dangerous offense in check over 96 pitches (58 strikes), with only a leadoff walk to Kyle Schwarber in the fourth inning coming back to bite him. The quality start was Elder's fourth in six August starts, but he wraps up the month with a 4.82 ERA and 26:12 K:BB in 37.1 innings despite a 1.15 WHIP. He lines up to make his next trip to the mound at home next weekend against the Mariners.

Crews went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Rays.

The rest of the Nationals' offense couldn't take advantage of his efforts on the basepaths, but Crews produced his first game of 2025 with multiple steals. He's 14-for-17 on stolen-base attempts in 59 games this season, but the 23-year-old offers little else from a fantasy perspective -- in 14 games since returning from an oblique strain in mid-August, he's slashing just .229/.327/.333 with zero homers, four RBI and nine runs.

Parker (7-15) took the loss Friday, giving up three runs on six hits over 6.1 innings as the Nationals fell 4-1 to the Rays. He struck out seven without walking a batter.

The seven strikeouts marked his highest single-game total since June 18 and the quality start was his first since July 19, but a lack of support from the Washington offense gave Parker little margin for error and stuck him with his fifth straight losing decision in August. Over six starts on the month, the southpaw has a ghastly 10.21 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 20:11 K:BB in 27.1 innings while serving up nine homers, including two Friday. Parker will try to build on this performance in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Marlins.

The Giants named Seymour their starting pitcher for Saturday's game against the Orioles at Oracle Park, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

After turning in a 3.74 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 16:9 K:BB in 21.2 innings while making his first 10 MLB appearances as a reliever, Seymour will get the chance to make his first big-league start Saturday while the Giants have an opening in the rotation due to Landen Roupp's (knee) continued absence. Seymour's most recent appearance came Wednesday versus the Cubs, but he tossed just 16 pitches in that outing and should be reasonably well rested. However, given that Seymour hasn't covered more than three innings in the majors or minors since June 19, the Giants may not allow him to work deep enough into Saturday's start to qualify for a win.

Littell didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 7-5 extra-inning loss to the Cardinals, giving up four runs (three earned) on six hits over seven innings. He struck out four without walking a batter.

Some shaky defense, including a catcher's interference call on Jose Trevino in the third inning, helped Littell salvage a quality start -- his third in five outings for Cincinnati. The right-hander sports a 3.90 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 21:6 K:BB through 27.2 innings with his new club, and he'll look for his first win since Aug. 5 in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Blue Jays.

Gonzales went 2-for-5 with a run scored Friday against the Red Sox.

Gonzales recorded his eighth multi-hit performance across 25 starts in August, good for a .317 average. He's had little production to show for it, however, as he has zero home runs and only four of his 33 hits have gone for extra bases. Due in part to the poor lineup around him, Gonzales has just four RBI and 10 runs scored in the same 25-game span.

Goodman went 3-for-5 on Friday against the Cubs.

Goodman tallied three singles to record his first multi-hit game in his last five starts. He's still wrapping up an excellent August, as he's racked up seven home runs with 16 RBI and 13 runs scored while hitting .265 across 83 at-bats.

Pages went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run in Friday's 7-5 extra-inning win over the Reds.

The backstop gave the Cardinals a 3-0 lead when he took Zack Littell deep in the second inning. Pages has been splitting the workload at catcher with Yohel Pozo (concussion), and he could see a bump in playing time while Jimmy Crooks is getting his first look at the big leagues as the team's No. 2 option. Over 16 games in August, Pages is slashing an impressive .352/.407/.648 with four of his 10 homers on the season, along with nine runs and 14 RBI.
