Iglesias will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Iglesias has now started in five of the Padres' last six games and has maintained a solid, if unspectacular .278/.333/.361 slash line with three extra-base hits (all doubles), two stolen bases, five runs and one RBI since the All-Star break. Though he's performed well enough to retain a near-everyday spot in the lineup for the time being, Iglesias will be at risk of moving into more of a utility role if the Padres add another impact bat ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.

Diaz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Though he'll take a seat in the series finale, Diaz may have at least temporarily overtaken Martin Maldonado as the Padres' top catcher. Diaz started in each of the Friars' last three games, going 3-for-12 with a double, five RBI and two runs.

Soto (foot) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

For just the second time all season, Soto will be held out of the starting nine after he was forced out of Tuesday's 7-1 loss due to a left foot contusion, which he sustained when he fouled a ball off of himself during a fourth-inning plate appearance. Though X-rays on Soto's foot came back negative, the Mets will take a cautious approach with the outfielder, who will have about 72 hours to recover from the injury since the Mets are off the schedule Thursday before returning to action Friday against the Giants. With Soto on the bench Wednesday, Jeff McNeil will pick up a start in right field.

Adams is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Adams will receive a routine day off for the afternoon contest after he started in each of the Nationals' previous three games. Drew Millas will replace Adams behind the dish and will bat eighth.

House is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

House will sit for the second time in four days as the Nationals go with Paul DeJong at third base. Since coming out of the All-Star break with a five-game hitting streak, House has fallen into a lull at the plate, going 1-for-15 with seven strikeouts over his ensuing four contests.

The Nationals recalled Brzykcy from Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

He'll fill one of openings in the bullpen that was created by the Nationals trading righty Luis Garcia and lefty Andrew Chafin to the Angels earlier Wednesday. Brzykcy has surrendered 17 earned runs over 20.2 frames during his time with the big club this season.

Baldwin is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

The left-handed-hitting Baldwin will take a seat for the second time in the series while the Royals send another lefty starter (Angel Zerpa) to the bump. Since Zerpa is serving as an opener and may not cover more than an inning or two, Baldwin could be a candidate to replace Sean Murphy at catcher or Marcell Ozuna at designated hitter once Zerpa exits the contest.

Atlanta designated De Los Santos for assignment Wednesday.

The transaction clears a spot on the 26-man active roster and 40-man roster for right-hander Tyler Kinley, who was acquired in a trade with the Rockies. De Los Santos has posted a 4.53 ERA and 38:18 K:BB over 43.2 innings for Atlanta this season. He could clear waivers, and if he does, he would have the ability to elect free agency.

The Nationals acquired Brown and left-hander Jake Eder from the Angels on Wednesday in exchange for right-hander Luis Garcia and left-hander Andrew Chafin.

Brown, a 23-year-old first baseman, has slashed .242/.347/.355 with five home runs and two stolen bases over 366 plate appearances with Double-A Rocket City this season. He'll likely stick at the Double-A level with his new organization and report to the Nationals' affiliate in Harrisburg. Given his lack of a standout tool and limited defensive utility, Brown doesn't profile as a noteworthy prospect for fantasy purposes.

The Nationals acquired Eder and first baseman Sam Brown from the Angels on Wednesday in exchange for right-hander Luis Garcia and left-hander Andrew Chafin. Eder was then optioned to Triple-A Rochester.

Eder, 26, has produced a 4.91 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 15:9 K:BB in 18.1 innings over eight appearances out of the Angels bullpen this season. He had made 13 starts with Triple-A Salt Lake, and the Nationals will likely continue to have him stay stretched out as a starter as he reports to their top affiliate in Rochester. Though Washington doesn't have a spot available for Eder in the big-league rotation at the moment, that could change if the Nationals move right-hander Michael Soroka ahead of Thursday's deadline, as has been speculated.
