Taillon suffered a left hamstring strain in the second inning of Sunday's game against the Giants, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.

Taillon pulled up lame on the final pitch of a six-pitch walk to Matt Chapman in the top of the second inning, and his departure is now understood to be the result of a hamstring injury. The right-hander now appears to be at risk of going on the 15-day injured list, and depending on the severity of the strain, Taillon could be forced to miss extended time. Javier Assad came on in relief of Taillon and could be a potential replacement in the rotation if Taillon is forced to the IL, though Matthew Boyd (knee) could also be ready for activation the next time a fifth starter is needed.

Taillon (undisclosed) left Sunday's start against the Giants in the second inning, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Taillon surrendered one run on two hits and a walk in the top of the first inning before walking Matt Chapman to open the top of the second. The right-hander immediately signaled to the Cubs' dugout after his final pitch to Chapman, and he was promptly removed from the contest. It's unclear what exactly caused Taillon's early departure, but more information on his status will likely be provided in the near future. In the meantime, Javier Assad replaced him on the mound against San Francisco.

Marchan went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 9-4 win over the White Sox.

Marchan crushed a rare homer Sunday, his second of the season and the ninth of his career. The switch-hitting backstop's playing time as Philadelphia's backup catcher has been scarce in 2026, and he's slashing a pitiful .103/.141/.191 with six RBI, one walk and four runs scored across 71 plate appearances.

Kepler (suspension) and the Diamondbacks agreed to terms Sunday on a one-year contract, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Kepler is serving an 80-game suspension for testing positive for a performance enhancing substance, but he will now have a team to return to once the ban is lifted. As a member of the Phillies in 2025, Kepler slashed .216/.300/.391 with 18 home runs, 58 runs 52 RBI and three steals over 474 plate appearances during the regular season. He'll remain on Arizona's restricted list until his suspension is concludes June 24, but he'll be able to stay sharp in the meantime by playing in minor-league games over the next couple of weeks.

Bowlan allowed one hit and no walks in two scoreless innings of relief Sunday against the White Sox. He struck out three.

With the Phillies nursing a 9-5 lead Sunday, Bowlan recorded the game's final six outs on just 19 pitches. The 29-year-old right-hander has seen very little high-leverage work in 2026, posting a 3.98 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 21:4 K:BB with one hold and no saves across 20.1 innings.

McLain went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Cardinals.

It was the second career multi-homer effort by McLain, who has now gone deep in back-to-back games. The middle infielder was virtually unstoppable during spring training earlier this year, posting a 1.540 OPS across 59 Cactus League plate appearances, but he's cooled down dramatically since the start of the regular season. McLain is slashing .206/.303/.368 with eight long balls, 10 doubles, 25 RBI and seven stolen bases through 239 trips to the plate, but he could be starting up a power surge.

O'Brien secured the save Sunday against the Reds, allowing no runs on one hit and no walks in the ninth inning. He struck out one.

O'Brien did let the possible tying run get to the plate, but he was able to hang on for the save courtesy of a Blake Dunn flyout. The 31-year-old right-hander has been shaky at times as St. Louis' closer, though he's now collected three saves in a row and ranks second in the National League behind only Mason Miller in saves. Through 29.1 frames, O'Brien has a 3.68 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 31:7 K:BB while converting 17 of his 21 save chances.

Lowder took a no-decision Sunday against the Cardinals, allowing no runs on one hit and five walks in three innings. He struck out four.

After missing just over three weeks of action with right shoulder discomfort, Lowder showed plenty of rust in his return to the major leagues Sunday following a lone minor-league rehab appearance. The 24-year-old right-hander threw only 34 of his 70 pitches for strikes, also walking a season-worst five hitters, but he managed to keep St. Louis off the board. Lowder has issued at least three passes in three consecutive outings en route to posting a shaky 5.01 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 31:23 K:BB over 41.1 innings, so he'll be searching for some control his next time out versus Arizona.

McGreevy took a no-decision Sunday against the Reds, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out five.

McGreevy has mostly done a fine job of keeping the ball in the yard in 2026, but he was tagged for multiple home runs Sunday for just the second time this year. On a much more positive takeaway, the 25-year-old right-hander pitched at least six innings while yielding two runs or fewer for the sixth time in his last eight starts. McGreevy will bring a strong 2.99 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 49:17 K:BB over 72.1 frames into his next scheduled start in Minnesota.

Petry was promoted to Double-A Harrisburg on Sunday, Kyle Williams of TheBanner.com reports.

Petry will move up to the Double-A level after registering a respectable .297 batting average with nine homers, 34 RBI, 24 runs scored and four stolen bases over 165 at-bats in 43 contests with High-A Wilmington this year. The 21-year-old will look to maintain his high level of production with Harrisburg moving forward in 2026.
