Birdsong allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits and a walk while striking out four over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Red Sox on Friday.

Birdsong ran into trouble in the third inning and also was scored on in the fourth and fifth frames. The Giants tied the game in the bottom of the fifth to spare him from staying on the hook for the loss, but it was another mediocre outing for Birdsong. The right-hander hadn't pitched since June 12 -- no reason was provided for the extended gap between starts, though the Giants' rotation has been in flux between the trade that sent Kyle Harrison to Boston and Justin Verlander's recent return from a pectoral injury. Birdsong has failed to complete five innings in three of his last five outings and now has a 3.25 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 55:20 K:BB through 52.2 innings over 17 appearances (six starts) this season. He's tentatively projected to make his next start at home in a favorable matchup versus the Marlins.

Adams went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Dodgers.

Adams rarely gets much playing time even as a backup catcher. He certainly hasn't hit his way into a larger role -- prior to Friday, he was 0-for-30 with 13 strikeouts over his previous 11 games, with his last hit being a homer May 6 versus the Guardians. The 28-year-old has a .103/.133/.276 slash line with three homers, eight RBI, six runs scored and one double over 21 contests this season, and he currently poses no threat to Keibert Ruiz's playing time.

Rosario went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Dodgers.

Rosario continues to play in a short-side platoon role in the Nationals' infield. His homer Friday was his second in June, but he's gone just 5-for-29 (.172) over 10 games this month. That won't help him push for more playing time in the long run, though he still gets looks against lefties to allow Luis Garcia or Brady House to get rest. Rosario is at a .271/.320/.432 slash line with four homers, 15 RBI, 16 runs scored, one stolen base and seven doubles over 126 plate appearances this season.

Abrams went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Dodgers.

Abrams logged his third multi-hit effort in his last four games. The homer was his 10th of the season and his second in June, but he's hitting a strong .294 (20-for-68) this month. The shortstop has also logged six steals over 18 games in June. For the season, he's batting .279 with an .832 OPS, 15 thefts, 24 RBI, 47 runs scored, 15 doubles and two triples over 63 contests.

Gore (3-7) allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits and four walks while striking out four over 5.2 innings, taking the loss Friday versus the Dodgers.

Gore hadn't allowed more than two runs in any of his last six starts, turning in five quality starts in that span. The Dodgers did the bulk of their damage in the third and fourth innings Friday, and Miguel Rojas added a two-run home run to knock Gore from the game in the sixth. Chalk it up as a rough outing against a challenging opponent -- Gore has earned the benefit of the doubt with his consistency this season. He's at a 3.19 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 123:27 K:BB through 93 innings over 16 starts. He'll look to bounce back next week when he faces his former team, the Padres, in a road start.

Rojas went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a double and a second run scored in Friday's 6-5 win over the Nationals.

Rojas has homered twice over his last four games. This was his third multi-hit effort of the year, and he's had a tough time getting his bat going while filling a reserve role in the Dodgers' infield. This was his second start in the last week at third base, but he appears to still be on the short side of a platoon with Max Muncy there. Rojas is up to three homers, eight RBI, 11 runs scored, four doubles and a .240/.276/.370 slash line through 45 contests this season.

Scott allowed a run on one hit over one inning to earn the save in Friday's 6-5 win over the Nationals.

Scott had to face the top of the Nationals' order and gave up a solo home run to CJ Abrams, but he was able to preserve the lead after that. This was the first earned run Scott had given up since June 2 versus the Mets, and it was the first time he's allowed a baserunner since June 9 in San Diego. The left-handed reliever is up to 15 saves this year while adding seven holds and five blown saves. He's maintained a 3.79 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 40:4 K:BB over 35.2 innings as the head of the Dodgers' closing committee.

Kershaw (3-0) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings to earn the win over the Nationals on Friday.

Kershaw gave up solo home runs to Amed Rosario and Riley Adams, but the Dodgers' offense gave the southpaw plenty of support. This was Kershaw's third straight win, and he's allowed just three runs with a 16:3 K:BB over his last 17 innings. Overall, he's pitched to a 3.31 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 24:12 K:BB across 32.2 innings over seven starts. Kershaw's next start is projected to be at Colorado.

Glasnow (shoulder) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Glasnow tossed about 40 pitches in a sim game Tuesday, and he's now ready to progress to game action. The veteran righty is expected to log two innings in his initial rehab start Sunday, according to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, and is slated for at least three rehab outings before coming off the injured list. Glasnow has been on the IL since late April, and though he's coming up on eligibility to be activated, his timeline suggests early July as a best-case scenario.

Frelick went 3-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored in Friday's 17-6 win over the Twins.

Frelick delivered his fifth game of the year with at least three knocks, and he also established a season high in runs scored. Friday marked the outfielder's seventh contest in a row in the leadoff spot, so he appears to be settling into that lineup placement. During that span, Frelick is batting a scorching .355 with two doubles, seven RBI, seven runs scored and two stolen bases across 31 at-bats.
