Baty (groin) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Atlanta.

With lefty Chris Sale toeing the rubber for Atlanta, there's a good chance the left-handed-hitting Baty would have been out of the lineup even if he wasn't dealing with right groin tightness. The bigger test for his availability figures to come Thursday, when righty Spencer Strider starts for Atlanta in the series finale. The Mets are going with Jeff McNeil at second base and Ronny Mauricio at third base Wednesday.

The Pirates recalled Cook from Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.

Cook has met up with the Pirates in Detroit and will likely be available for at least the remaining two games of the team's series versus the Tigers to provide extra coverage in the outfield after Bryan Reynolds (personal) was placed on the paternity list in a corresponding move. Reynolds will have to be activated by Saturday, at which point Cook will most likely head back to Indianapolis. Cook had spent the entire 2025 season at Triple-A, slashing .266/.350/.329 with no home runs and 10 steals over 62 games.

The Pirates placed Reynolds (personal) on the paternity list Wednesday.

Reynolds left the team to observe the birth of his child and must miss at least one game and no more than three while he's on the paternity list. The Pirates recalled Billy Cook from Triple-A Indianapolis to serve as a short-term replacement for Reynolds on the 26-man active roster.

Call is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Despite providing an .853 OPS over a stretch of 12 consecutive starts from June 4 through Monday, Call looks like he'll have to settle for a fourth outfielder role after the Nationals recalled Daylen Lile from Triple-A Rochester earlier this week. Lile will draw a second straight start in right field against a right-handed starting pitcher (German Marquez), while the right-handed-hitting Call has been on the bench for both of those contests. Lile and Call could end up operating in a platoon at the position until Dylan Crews (oblique) is cleared to return from the injured list.

Kemp is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

For the first time since receiving his first big-league call-up June 7, Kemp will head to the bench. The rookie has held his own at the plate through his first 10 starts in the majors, batting .278 with a walk, a stolen base, six runs and four RBI. Though he'll cede his spot in the infield to Edmundo Sosa on Wednesday, Kemp should continue to handle an everyday role until the Phillies get first baseman Bryce Harper (wrist) back from the injured list.

Meyer said Wednesday that he will soon be examined by a hip specialist, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Meyer has missed most of June due to a left hip impingement. He played catch Monday, but the revelation that he is headed to see a specialist suggests the pitcher's recovery is not coming along as hoped. The Marlins should have more information on Meyer's condition once the specialist's evaluation is disclosed.

The Dodgers optioned Sauer to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Sauer was credited with a win Tuesday against the Padres, despite allowing three runs over 2.1 relief innings. He will head back to Oklahoma City to accommodate the return of Emmet Sheehan (elbow), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list to start Wednesday's contest.

The Dodgers activated Sheehan (elbow) from the 60-day injured list to start Wednesday against the Padres.

Sheehan is set to make his season debut versus San Diego after completing his recovery from May 2024 Tommy John surgery. The right-hander made four rehab starts, posting a 3.97 ERA and 21:1 K:BB over 11.1 frames. Sheehan went 3.1 innings and threw 63 pitches in his last outing, so he's not stretched out for a full workload. Per Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com, lefty Justin Wrobleski will be available out of the bullpen and could be tasked with covering multiple innings once Sheehan exits the contest.

Sanchez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

The left-handed-hitting Sanchez will be on the bench for the second straight game while the Phillies send another southpaw (Ranger Suarez) to the hill. Heriberto Hernandez will get the starting nod in right field in place of Sanchez, who could end up sitting again in the series finale Thursday, when lefty Cristopher Sanchez is scheduled to toe the rubber for Philadelphia.

Stowers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

After being included in the lineup for Tuesday's matchup with southpaw Jesus Luzardo, the left-handed-hitting Stowers will head to the bench Wednesday as the Marlins face off against a second straight lefty (Ranger Suarez). Javier Sanoja will get the starting nod in left field in place of Stowers.
