  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

    Dodgers' Max Muncy: Resting Sunday

Muncy isn't part of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

After making four straight starts at third base, Muncy will get a breather for Sunday's series finale against the Angels. In his place, Enrique Hernandez will bat seventh and play third base.

  • Giants' Mike Yastrzemski: Idle against southpaw

Yastrzemski isn't part of the starting nine for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Yastrzemski will yield to Luis Matos in right field Sunday against lefty Jeffrey Springs and the Athletics. Yastrzemski is slashing .278/.381/.444 in 168 plate appearances this season.

  • Giants' Patrick Bailey: Resting Sunday

Bailey isn't part of the Giants' starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Bailey caught Games 1 and 2 of the three-game set against the A's, and he'll get a much-deserved day off Sunday. In his place, Sam Huff will catch and bat seventh.

  • Giants' Tyler Fitzgerald: Not in lineup

Fitzgerald isn't part of the starting nine for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Fitzgerald will get a day off after making back-to-back starts following his activation from the 10-day injured list Friday. In his place, Christian Koss will bat ninth and play second base.

  • Tommy Edman 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Activated and in lineup

Edman (ankle) has been activated from the 10-day injured list and will bat sixth and play center field Sunday against the Angels, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Edman landed on the injured list April 30 after tweaking his right ankle but recovered slower than anticipated. He's finally healthy enough to rejoin the active roster and immediately joins the starting nine. Edman slashed .252/.295/.523 with eight home runs in 122 plate appearances before the injury. The Dodgers designated Chris Taylor for assignment in a corresponding move.

  • Luis Matos RF | MIL

Giants' Luis Matos: In lineup Sunday

Matos (shoulder) will bat sixth and play right field Sunday against the Athletics, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Matos was scratched from Friday's lineup due to discomfort in his right shoulder and didn't appear in Saturday's 1-0 win over the A's. However, he's back in the starting nine for the series finale. Matos is slashing .167/.219/.350 in 64 plate appearances this season.

  • Jose Ruiz RP | TEX

Phillies' Jose Ruiz: Activated from IL

The Phillies reinstated Ruiz (neck) from the 15-day injured list Sunday.

Ruiz has been on the injured list for the entirety of May due to neck spasms, but after throwing a pair of scoreless innings at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, he's been cleared to rejoin the big-league club. Prior to the injury, Ruiz posted a 4.76 ERA with an 11:6 K:BB across 11.1 innings. He'll take Jose Alvarado's (suspension) spot on the 26-man active roster.

  • Padres' Jason Heyward: On bench Sunday

Heyward isn't part of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Heyward is batting 4-for-30 (.133) in May, and he's seen his playing time dwindle over the last week. He's absent from the lineup for the third time in four games -- all against right-handed starters. Gavin Sheets will fill in at left field while Manny Machado shifts to DH and Jose Iglesias plays third base.

  • Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA

Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Placed on IL

Miami moved Edwards to the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a left mid-back strain.

Edwards sat out both Friday and Saturday due to the back issue, and he's now going to need to rest for at least eight more days before potentially returning to action for Miami. In positive news for the Marlins, the team got another starting middle infielder back, Otto Lopez (ankle) was activated from the 10-day IL in a corresponding move. While Edwards is sidelined, Javier Sanoja will likely serve as the team's primary option at shortstop.

  • Otto Lopez SS | MIA

Marlins' Otto Lopez: Activated off IL

The Marlins reinstated Lopez (ankle) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.

Lopez missed two weeks of action after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 right ankle sprain in early May. The 26-year-old should immediately regain a near-everyday role at second base. Despite Lopez's return, the Marlins' infield is still missing a key piece, as shortstop Xavier Edwards was placed on the 10-day IL on Sunday due to a mid-back strain.
