Braves' Bryce Elder: Rebounds with quality start
Elder allowed a run on four hits and a walk across six innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Diamondbacks. He struck out five.
Elder held Arizona to a lone run on Gabriel Moreno's solo homer in the fourth inning, logging his fourth quality start in his last six outings. Overall, Elder's ERA sits at 3.92 across 24 starts (137.2 innings) this season with a 1.23 WHIP and 113:46 K:BB. He's currently lined up to face the Brewers on the road his next time out.

Davidjohn Herz P | WAS
Nationals' DJ Herz: Fires two innings in rehab start
Herz (elbow) struck out two over two perfect innings in his rehab start Friday with Double-A Harrisburg.
Since restarting his rehab assignment earlier this month after recovering from a flexor strain, Herz has piled up five strikeouts over three scoreless frames. Before bringing Herz back from the 60-day injured list, the Nationals are likely to have him build up gradually over at least two more rehab appearances, as the left-hander previously underwent Tommy John surgery last April. Depending on how he fares in subsequent outings in the minors, Herz could have a spot in the rotation waiting for him once he's activated.

Turang (knee) is trending toward a return to the lineup Tuesday against the Mariners, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Carmen Mlodzinski RP | PIT
Pirates' Carmen Mlodzinski: Set for another start
Mlodzinski will start Monday's contest against the Tigers, Dominic Campbell of SI.com reports.
Mlodzinski returned to the Pirates' starting rotation in early August after Mitch Keller (arm) suffered a season-ending injury, and he will now make his third start since then. The 27-year-old has combined to pitch 5.1 innings, allowing nine runs on 12 hits and four walks while striking out two batters over his last two outings. Mlodzinski hasn't exceeded 70 pitches in an outing since June 15, so it's unclear how deep he'll be able to go against Detroit.

Dobbins has posted a 3.42 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 49:21 K:BB through 50 innings across 10 games (seven starts) this year. Dobbins is projected to make his next start in Philadelphia.
