Laureano is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

The Padres will hold Laureano out of the starting nine for the second time in three games while he has yet to break out of an extended funk at the plate. Over his last 24 contests, Laureano has struck out at least once in every contest while slashing a porous .181/.278/.313. With Laureano on the bench Wednesday, the Padres will go with Gavin Sheets, Jackson Merrill and Nick Castellanos as their starters in the outfield from left to right.

Song is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

After Jake Cronenworth was diagnosed with a concussion May 5 and placed on the 7-day injured list, Song had started at second base in five of the Friars' ensuing six games, but he'll cede the keystone to Fernando Tatis on Wednesday for the second day in a row. Since recording two hits in his first start, Song has gone 0-for-8 with a 2:4 BB:K, and his lack of production may have closed his window for handling an everyday role while Cronenworth is shelved.

Fermin is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

He'll hit the bench after starting behind the plate in three of the Padres' previous four contests. Rodolfo Duran will step in as the Friars' starting catcher Wednesday.

Schmitt is not in the Giants' starting lineup against the Dodgers on Wednesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The Giants will go with Bryce Eldridge as the designated hitter against righty Shohei Ohtani in Wednesday's game. In 10 games since May 1, Schmitt has gone 9-for-37 (.243) with two steals, two home runs, four RBI and five runs scored.

Bader is not in the Giants' starting lineup against the Dodgers on Wednesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

With the Dodgers sending Shohei Ohtani to the mound, Bader will be on the bench for the beginning of Wednesday's game while the Giants start Heliot Ramos, Drew Gilbert and Jung Hoo Lee in the outfield from left to right. Bader has gone 3-for-11 with a solo home run and a double over his last three games.

Ohtani is starting as a pitcher Wednesday against the Giants but is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup as the designated hitter.

Per Sonja Chen of MLB.com, Ohtani could be available as a pinch hitter Wednesday but will only start as a pitcher. Although his batting stats this season have taken a noticeable hit -- particularly in May with a .532 OPS through 11 games -- Ohtani continues to be one of the best pitchers in baseball, with the right-hander sporting a 0.97 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 42:9 K:BB across 37 innings this season.

Muncy is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup against the Giants on Wednesday.

Muncy will be on the bench for the beginning of Wednesday's game while Santiago Espinal starts at third base and bats ninth. In 11 games since May 1, Muncy has gone 8-for-35 (.229) with two home runs and six RBI.

Ryan (hamstring) is scheduled to make his next start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Ryan has been shelved on Oklahoma City's 7-day injured list since April 17 due to a hamstring injury, but the 27-year-old right-hander has recovered enough to return to the mound for Friday's Triple-A contest. In two starts prior to his injury, Ryan allowed five runs (four earned) on nine hits and two walks while striking out 10 batters across seven innings.

Turner is not in the Phillies' lineup against the Red Sox on Wednesday due to an illness, Paul Casella of MLB.com reports.

Turner will open Wednesday's game on the bench, though Phillies manager Don Mattingly told reporters that the star shortstop could be available to pinch hit or pinch run against Boston. Turner has been in a slump over his last 10 games, going 8-for-44 (.182) with one steal, two RBI and four runs scored over that span.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that Yelich is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres due to back soreness, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Yelich had missed about a month due to a strained left groin before returning to action as the Brewers' designated hitter for Tuesday's 6-4 win and going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. The groin presented no issues for Yelich in his return to the lineup, but the 34-year-old is now being viewed as day-to-day with a new health concern. While the skipper suggested that Yelich's absence from the lineup is in part precautionary, it's worth noting that the 2018 NL MVP has a long history of back problems and underwent a microdiscectomy in August 2024. The Brewers will wait and see how Yelich responds to a day off before determining the next steps.
