Seiya Suzuki RF | CHC
Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Handed day off in series finale
Suzuki is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.
With the Cubs wrapping up their series in San Diego with an afternoon game after a night game, Suzuki will receive what appears to be a routine day off. He had started in each of Chicago's last eight games, going 14-for-32 (.438 average) with five home runs, seven RBI and eight runs over that stretch.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Taking seat for series finale
Swanson (glute) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.
Swanson was lifted prior to the bottom of the second inning in Tuesday's 8-3 win after experiencing a left glute cramp. The Cubs haven't indicated that Swanson is dealing with anything more significant than the cramp, so he's presumably just getting some extra rest Wednesday as a matter of precaution. Chicago is off Thursday, so Swanson will get two full days to recover before likely returning to the lineup Friday versus the Diamondbacks.

Alex Bregman 3B | CHC
Cubs' Alex Bregman: Cleared to play through sore toe
Bregman (toe) will start at third base and bat third in Wednesday's game against the Padres.
Though he was in some pain after fouling a ball off of his foot in Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Dodgers, Bregman remained in the lineup for Monday's series opener in San Diego before heading to the bench Tuesday. He still ended up making an impact in a reserve role in the Cubs' 8-3 win, entering the game as a pinch hitter and going 2-for-2 with a pair of base knocks, an RBI and a run while playing three innings in the field. Despite the quick turnaround Wednesday as the Cubs and Padres wrap up their series with a day game after a night game, Bregman looks like he's made enough progress with the toe injury to play a full nine innings.

Teoscar Hernandez LF | LAD
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Receiving breather Wednesday
Hernandez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
Alex Call will get the nod in left field in the series finale while Hernandez sits in what appears to be a routine rest day for the 33-year-old. Hernandez had started in each of the last nine games, going 5-for-32 (.156 average) with zero home runs and a 5:8 BB:K over that stretch.

Will Smith C | LAD
Dodgers' Will Smith: Resting up Wednesday
Smith is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
After missing a couple of games over the weekend due to a back issue, Smith returned to action and started behind the plate in the first two games of the series with Miami, going 3-for-9 with an RBI between the contests. Smith isn't believed to have suffered any setbacks coming out of either of those games, so he's presumably just getting a breather for Wednesday's matinee. Dalton Rushing will draw the start at catcher in the series finale.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Returning to lineup
Perdomo (ankle) will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Wednesday's game in Milwaukee.
Perdomo missed the previous two contests with a left ankle sprain, but he's feeling well enough to play Wednesday. The 26-year-old is sporting a .250/.350/.393 batting line with one home run and six stolen bases in his first 25 contests this season.
