Goodman is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Padres.

Goodman had started each of the previous five tilts, so he's earned some rest for Thursday's matinee. Brett Sullivan will do the catching and bat seventh for the Rockies.

Crow-Armstrong is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Phillies.

It's the first day off this season for Crow-Armstrong, who has reached base six times in the first three games of the series. With PCA receiving a breather, the Cubs will roll with Matt Shaw in center field as they try to complete a sweep.

Maton (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Iowa on Friday, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.

Maton was cleared to pitch in games after getting through a live batting practice session with no issues. Working his way back from right knee tendinitis, Maton could require just the one rehab appearance before rejoining the Cubs' bullpen. When Maton does return, he might be considered for save chances while Daniel Palencia (oblique) is out, though a 13.50 ERA before getting hurt could point to easing the former into such situations.

The Rockies recalled Halvorsen from Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.

Halvorsen wasn't able to win a spot on the Opening Day roster but will get a look now after yielded just two runs with a 12:5 K:BB in his first 10 innings at Albuquerque. His stay could be a short one, as Halvorsen is a good bet to be sent back down when Jimmy Herget returns from paternity leave.

Petty (undisclosed) will start for Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.

Petty failed to make the Reds' roster out of spring training and spent some time on the injured list with an undisclosed issue. He's made four starts for Louisville, posting a 6.61 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 22:5 K:BB across 16.1 innings. The 23-year-old made his MLB debut last season, pitching in three games with Cincinnati and allowing 14 runs (13 earned) on 14 hits and eight walks with seven strikeouts across six innings.

The Rockies placed Herget on the paternity list Thursday.

Herget will be away from the club for a few days while welcoming a new addition to the family. Seth Halvorsen has taken his spot on the roster and in the bullpen.

The Mets are expected to place Lindor (calf) on the 10-day injured list Thursday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Lindor was forced to leave Wednesday's game versus the Twins after tweaking his left calf while running the bases. The results of an MRI on Lindor's calf have yet to be revealed, but the feeling is that the injury is bad enough to force an IL move. Ronny Mauricio is in line to take Lindor's roster spot and could get some starts at shortstop in Lindor's stead. The club could also shift Bo Bichette to his natural shortstop position and use Brett Baty at third base.

Kelly will start at catcher and bat fifth in Thursday's game against the Phillies.

The Cubs' initial lineup did not include Kelly, but he's in there in the updated version. Kelly is sporting a .310/.420/.466 batting line with a pair of homers and an 11:12 BB:K in the early going this season.

The Phillies optioned Rangel to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Thursday.

Rangel helped save the bullpen in Wednesday's loss to the Cubs, striking out five over three innings of one-run ball. His reward is a trip back to Lehigh Valley, where he will reenter the rotation. Rangel holds a 1.66 ERA and 18:10 K:BB over 21.2 frames with Lehigh Valley in 2026.

The Phillies recalled Hoffman from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Thursday.

Hoffman will provide a fresh arm for the Phillies' bullpen. The right-handed reliever holds a 2.35 ERA and 14:4 K:BB over 7.2 frames at Lehigh Valley this season.
