Grichuk went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs in Friday's 8-6 loss to the Phillies.

Both blasts came against Jesus Luzardo as the two teams combined for five homers on a night when the ball was flying out of Citizens Bank Park. Grichuk has been a potent short-side platoon option for the White Sox since he was signed in early May, and on the season he's slashing .320/.358/.700 in 53 plate appearances against left-handed pitching, with five of his six long balls coming in that split.

Stewart went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, two RBI and a run scored in Friday's 10-3 loss to St. Louis.

Stewart was in the middle of the Reds' three-run first inning, doubling home two runs and scoring the third. He's still contributing from the middle of the order but less so after his boffo start. After posting a .943 OPS with nine home runs and 29 RBI over 31 games through the end of April, Stewart has a .722 OPS with three homers and 10 RBI over the same number of contests since May 1.

McCarthy went 2-for-6 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base Friday against the Brewers.

McCarthy accounted for most of his damage in the first inning, when he hit a leadoff double, stole third base and came around to score. He continues to deliver impressive production, maintaining a .284 average with two homers, 10 RBI and 13 runs scored across his last 20 games. McCarthy also has four stolen bases in that span and 11 for the season.

Kay didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 8-6 loss to the Phillies, surrendering six runs on seven hits and two walks over four-plus innings. He struck out four.

The left-hander was taken off the hook for a loss when the White Sox tied the game at 6-6 in the top of the seventh inning, but Kay still stumbled to one of his worst starts of the season, with homers by Brandon Marsh in the second inning and Adolis Garcia in the fourth accounting for a big part of the damage off him. Kay will take a 4.40 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 46:26 K:BB through 61.1 innings into his next outing, which is set to come at home against Atlanta.

Burke is expected to pitch in bulk relief behind opener Brandon Eisert during Saturday's game in Philadelphia, Brooke Fletcher of Chicago Sports Network reports.

The top half of the Philadelphia lineup often features three tough left-handed hitters in Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper and Brandon Marsh, so the White Sox will have the left-handed Eisert open the contest in an effort to avoid an early deficit. Once Eisert works the first inning or two, Burke should take over in relief and handle something close to the workload he would typically handle as a starter. The right-hander has been solid out of the front end of the Chicago rotation this season, delivering a 3.72 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 60:18 K:BB in 65.1 innings across 12 appearances (10 starts).

Thompson has picked things up at the plate across his last four games, with Friday marking the first three-hit game of his career. In that four-game span -- three of which were on the road -- Thompson has gone 6-for-16 with three RBI, three runs scored and three walks. He's also been in the lineup in five of Colorado's last six games between left field and DH and is occupying a strong-side platoon role.

Valdez (3-4) picked up the win in Friday's 7-3 victory over the Mariners, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out five.

The southpaw wasn't particularly efficient, needing 102 pitches (61 strikes) to record 15 outs, but Valdez didn't give up any extra-base hits and shut the door on Seattle after the visitors scratched out a first-inning run. It was Valdez's first win since April 19, and over eight starts since that date he's managed a 4.85 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 39:18 K:BB in 42.2 innings. He'll look to build on Friday's performance in his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Twins.

Dubon went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double, an additional RBI and an additional run scored in Friday's win over the Pirates.

Dubon has been swinging a hot bat of late and has gone yard in three games in a row, with two multi-hit performances, seven RBI and four runs scored over that stretch. The eight-year veteran is trending in the right direction after hitting just .222 with a .600 OPS across 26 games in May.

Torkelson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 7-3 win over the Mariners.

Torkelson and Kerry Carpenter hit matching two-run home runs to power the Tigers to victory. The slugging first baseman is riding a five-game hitting streak, a span in which he's gone 7-for-16 with two homers and five RBI. Torkelson is now up to nine long balls for the season to go along with a .726 OPS, and he seems to be getting back on track in June after mostly struggling through May.
