Angels' Sammy Peralta: Called up Saturday

Peralta was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.

Peralta will return to the major-league bullpen following a demotion Monday, replacing Luis Garcia (oblique) after he was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday. Peralta owns an inflated 8.38 ERA and 2.07 WHIP with seven strikeouts over 9.2 innings in four appearances with the Angels in September.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Getting breather Saturday

Hernandez isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game versus Seattle.

Hernandez extended his hitting streak to five games with a single Friday, and he'll receive a chance to catch his breath Saturday while Alex Call starts in right field and bats sixth.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: On bench Saturday

Muncy (lower body) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game versus Seattle.

Muncy's lower-body injury will force him to the bench for the third straight game, though manager Dave Roberts said Friday that the third baseman should be ready for the start of the NL Wild Card Series on Tuesday. In the meantime, Enrique Hernandez will start at third base and bat eighth against Logan Gilbert and the Mariners.

  • Ernie Clement SS | TOR

Blue Jays' Ernie Clement: Contributes four runs in win

Clement went 2-for-3 with a two-run double, two runs scored and a steal during the Blue Jays' 5-1 win over the Rays on Saturday.

Clement got the Blue Jays on the board early with a two-run double off Joe Boyle in the second inning before crossing home plate one batter later. Clement got on base for a second time in the fifth, and after successfully stealing second base, he was brought home on a Nathan Lukes single to give Toronto a 4-0 lead. Since Sept. 1, Clement has slashed .286/.321/.416 with two steals, 14 runs, 10 doubles and nine RBI across 82 plate appearances.

  • Luis Garcia RP | NYM

    Angels' Luis Garcia: Season over

Garcia (oblique) was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to Sept. 25.

Garcia is dealing with a left oblique strain, and he will now be forced to miss the team's final two contests of the 2025 campaign. Left-hander Sammy Peralta was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake to replace Garcia in the major-league bullpen Saturday.

  • Tommy Edman 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Back in action Saturday

Edman (ankle) will serve as the Dodgers' designated hitter and bat leadoff against the Mariners on Saturday.

Ankle soreness has kept Edman from playing in the Dodgers' last two games, but a few days of rest now have the 30-year-old ready to return to the starting nine. In 10 games since returning from the injured list, he's gone 9-for-38 (.237) with a homer, five RBI and six runs scored.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

Angels' Yoan Moncada: Sitting again Saturday

Moncada is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's matchup with Houston.

  • Nolan Schanuel 1B | LAA

    Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Sitting Saturday

Schanuel is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Astros.

  • Ben Rortvedt C | CIN

Dodgers' Ben Rortvedt: Riding bench Saturday

Rortvedt isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Seattle.

Rortvedt will head to the bench Saturday after going 0-for-2 with a pair of strikeouts in Friday's series opener. Dalton Rushing will start behind the plate instead and bat ninth.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Rare day off Saturday

Ohtani isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners.

Ohtani went 0-for-3 during Friday's victory but still managed to extend his on-base streak to 30 games by drawing a walk. The Dodgers will give him an extra day to rest Saturday in preparation for the postseason, which will allow Tommy Edman to work as the DH while Miguel Rojas starts at second base.
