Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Sasaki (finger) could be back in the rotation as soon as Sunday against the Marlins, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Sasaki is nearing his return from the 15-day injured list due to a blister on his right middle finger. It looks like the 24-year-old right-hander won't go on a rehab assignment and could toe the rubber in Sunday's series finale in Miami. Sasaki had a 3.05 ERA and 1.28 WHIP over 38.1 innings in his seven starts prior to his stint on the IL.

Henderson (foot) is in the lineup for Friday's matchup against Toronto, per Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com.

Henderson will return to the starting nine after missing the previous game with a foot injury he suffered Tuesday against Cleveland. The 25-year-old will man shortstop and bat fifth for Baltimore during Friday's series opener.

Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters that Alvarez is not in the starting lineup against the Rays on Friday due to a right ankle injury, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

It's not clear when Alvarez tweaked his ankle, though it could be part of the reason why his production at the plate in September has taken a dip (7-for-33 across nine games). He'll take batting practice and do some work before Friday's game in the hope that he's available off the bench, and he could be back in the lineup for Saturday's contest. Jose Altuve will serve as Houston's designated hitter for the series opener in Tampa Bay.

Freeman (knee) will not be in the Dodgers' starting lineup against the Marlins on Friday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Despite the Dodgers having an off-day Thursday, Freeman will be out of the lineup for a second consecutive game while working through a right knee injury. Manager Dave Roberts told reporters Friday that he expects Freeman to be back in the lineup for Saturday's afternoon matinee. Enrique Hernandez figures to draw the start at first base Friday in Freeman's absence.

Yesavage (knee) threw a 30-pitch bullpen Thursday and is scheduled for another session in Toronto on Sunday, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.

If all goes well Sunday, Yesavage could make a rehab outing with Triple-A Buffalo and return to the majors for the final week of the regular season. The 23-year-old right-hander continues to recover from meniscus surgery that he underwent Aug. 11, and his return would be a welcome one for the Blue Jays considering both Shane Bieber (shoulder) and Jameson Taillon (elbow) are on the IL. In addition, Spencer Arrighetti has struggled since being acquired by Toronto from Houston in early August.

The Padres recalled McCoy from Triple-A El Paso on Friday.

McCoy will log his first stint with the big-league club after being called up Friday. In El Paso this season, the 31-year-old has slashed .284/.359/.408 with 10 homers, 67 RBI, 88 runs scored and 37 stolen bases over 546 plate appearances. The Padres moved Ty France to the paternity leave list to open a spot for McCoy on the active roster.

Schanuel (intercostal) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake this weekend, Erica Weston of Angels Broadcast Television reports.

Schanuel has been shelved for the past three weeks with a right intercostal strain, but he's ready to test things out in a game setting. Because the first baseman's absence has been relatively brief, he should be ready for activation sometime next week if all goes well on his rehab assignment.

Alvarez is not in the Astros' starting lineup against the Rays on Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Alvarez is already up to a career-high 637 plate appearances on the season and has gone 7-for-33 (.212) with one home run, two RBI and 10 strikeouts in September. He'll get a rest day for Friday's series opener, with Jose Altuve serving as the designated hitter and Nick Allen drawing the start at second base.

Wilson underwent left shoulder labral surgery Wednesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Additionally, Wilson was administered a PRP injection Tuesday to combat patellar tendinitis in his right knee. Wilson first injured his shoulder back in early May, and he was ultimately limited to just 80 games in an injury-shortened 2026 campaign. The shortstop could be ready for Opening Day, though he is likely to be slow-played during spring training.

The Padres placed France on the paternity leave list Friday.

France will miss up to three contests while he welcomes a new child to the family. San Diego recalled Mason McCoy to fill France's spot on the roster.
