Edman (ankle) is expected to begin a rehab assignment within the next few weeks, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Edman's recovery from right ankle surgery has come along slowly, as he's dealt with lingering soreness when he attempts to ramp things up. However, he seems to have turned a corner recently, with general manager Brandon Gomes noting Monday of Edman that "each week we're trending up and able to do more and get closer to his game speeds." The hope is Edman will be ready to go at some point in June, though there's still not a clear timetable for his activation.

The Twins selected Arcia's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Arcia will give the Twins depth across the infield following Royce Lewis' demotion to St. Paul. The 31-year-old has slashed .318/.376/.556 with eight home runs over 39 contests with St. Paul this season.

Mead went 1-for-2 with two walks, a double and an RBI in Monday's extra-innings loss to the Mets.

The 25-year-old began the night on the bench but wound up seeing a full allotment of plate appearances after pinch-hitting for Luis Garcia in the seventh inning of a game that wasn't decided until the 12th. Mead and Garcia has formed a very effective tandem at first base over the last few weeks, and over 50 PAs since April 29, Mead is slashing .324/.500/.541 with five doubles, a homer, a steal, six RBI and 10 runs. Garcia, for his part, has a .921 OPS in 49 PAs over that same period. With Brady House demoted to Triple-A on Monday, the Nationals' lineup could see a shake-up that gets both players a little more playing time, either at second base or at DH.

Nunez went 0-for-3 with a stolen base in Monday's extra-innings loss to the Mets.

The speedy infielder began the night on the bench but still wound up seeing a nearly full allotment of plate appearances after pinch-running for Brady House in the seventh inning of a game that wound up going 12 frames. Nunez's steal was his 20th of the season, tying him with Jose Ramirez for the major-league lead, but he's been a fairly one-dimensional fantasy asset in 2026, slashing .187/.299/.209 in 45 games with zero homers, 14 RBI and 18 runs.

The Twins optioned Lewis to Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

The third baseman struggled to a .671 OPS in 106 games last season and has been even worse in 2026 with a .163/.261/.279 slash line and 31.1 percent strikeout rate through 119 plate appearances, so the Twins will send him to Triple-A in hopes he can get back on track. Lewis has finally been able to stay fairly healthy the past two seasons but has been unable to replicate the .825 OPS he posted across his first 152 major-league games. Tristan Gray is likely to benefit with more chances at third base with Lewis sent down.

Morales is slashing a stunning .404/.472/.697 over his last 31 games for Triple-A Rochester with eight doubles, eight homers, 19 RBI and a 13:28 BB:K.

The 40th overall pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Miami, Morales struggled to make any kind of impact at the plate or find a defensive home during his first few years in the Nationals' system. After another sluggish start to 2026, however, things have suddenly clicked for the 24-year-old, and after fanning 30.3 percent of the time over 95 games for Rochester last season, he's shaved that down to 22.4 percent during his month-long heater. Morales has mainly played third base in 2026 after being used primarily at first base the two prior years, and with the Nats having demoted Brady House on Monday, the door would seem to be open for Morales to make his big-league debut in the coming weeks.

Alexander will serve as the Rangers' opening pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Rockies, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

The left-hander has plenty of big-league experience as a starter and will make his first start of 2026 on Tuesday. Alexander has been effective out of the bullpen this season with a 2.14 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 16:6 K:BB across 21 innings, but he shouldn't be expected to cover more than an inning or two in Colorado, given that he's yet to record more than seven outs in any appearance. Kumar Rocker is expected to follow Alexander as the Rangers' bulk reliever.

Rocker will pitch in bulk relief Tuesday against the Rockies, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

He had previously been scheduled to start Tuesday, but the Rangers will instead have Rocker enter the game behind lefty Tyler Alexander, who will serve as an opener and is likely to cover an inning or two. Rocker has posted an 11.25 ERA in the first inning this season, so the Rangers will see if he fares better entering in the middle of the game.

Atlanta recalled Mederos from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.

Mederos will give Atlanta some length in the bullpen following Monday's blowout loss in Miami. The 24-year-old holds a 4.81 ERA and 1.48 WHIP with 21 strikeouts across 24.1 innings this season with Gwinnett.

Atlanta released Bummer on Tuesday.

Bummer was torched for six runs on three hits and five walks over one inning of work in Monday's loss to the Marlins, pushing his ERA and WHIP on the season to 7.63 and 1.83, respectively. The veteran lefty's velocity has trended in the wrong direction in recent years, as the 90.2 mph he's averaging on his sinker is more than five mph lower than the 95.4 mph he averaged back in 2021. Bummer's track record should still be enough to land him a fresh start in a new organization.
