Cavanaugh is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Cardinals, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The Cardinals have southpaw Quinn Mathews taking the mound Tuesday, so the left-handed bat of Cavanaugh will take a breather on the bench. Andrew Knizner is starting behind the dish and is batting sixth.

Lee has struggled against lefties with a .647 OPS throughout the season, but he has fared better versus righties with .765 OPS. The left-handed bat is getting a breather Tuesday as the Cardinals send southpaw Quinn Mathews to the mound. Grant McCray starts in right field, batting eighth.

Montes (hip) will serve as the designated hitter and bat eighth Tuesday against the Rangers.

Montes entered Seattle's last two games off the bench after suffering a hip injury Friday, and he's now feeling well enough to return to the starting nine for Tuesday's series opener. The 21-year-old homered in his MLB debut last Tuesday but has since gone just 1-for-10 with an RBI and six strikeouts in four contests.

The Diamondbacks optioned Cabrera to Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.

The right-hander fired three scoreless frames out of the bullpen Monday in Kansas City and will now be sent down in favor of a fresh bullpen arm. Cabrera has made seven appearances (five starts) for the Diamondbacks this year and has a 4.33 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 18:10 K:BB across 27 innings.

Salas isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.

Salas will move to the bench Tuesday after going 0-for-10 with four strikeouts across his first four games in the big leagues. Freddy Fermin will fill in behind the plate and bat ninth.

The Diamondbacks recalled Strowd from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.

The right-hander is up for another stint with the Diamondbacks after spending the past month at Triple-A. Strowd has made just one appearance in the majors this season but was a solid bullpen piece for Baltimore last year with a 1.71 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 24:13 K:BB across 26.1 innings.

The Giants optioned Morgan to Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.

Morgan was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Sept. 1 but did not appear in a game before getting sent back down Tuesday. In a corresponding move, the Giants recalled Brett Harris.

Kelly is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Brewers.

Kelly was behind the dish the previous two days for the Cubs, so he'll take a seat Tuesday. Miguel Amaya will do the catch and slot into the No. 9 spot in the batting order.

The Giants recalled Harris from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.

Harris owns an .849 OPS across 319 plate appearances in the minors this season but has gone just 1-for-9 at the plate since joining the Giants organization Thursday. He'll now join the parent club to supply San Francisco with additional infield depth, replacing Zach Morgan.
