Wesneski (elbow) struck out seven and allowed one unearned run on two hits and two walks across 4.1 innings in a rehab start Friday with Triple-A Sugar Land.

Wesneski has been on the shelf all season while completing his recovery from May 2025 Tommy John surgery, but he's closing in on his 2026 big-league debut. He's made five starts during his rehab assignment, with the right-hander having compiled a 2.25 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 21:4 K:BB in 20 innings across stops with Sugar Land, Double-A Corpus Christi and the rookie-level Florida Complex League. After building up to 80 pitches and generating 12 whiffs in Friday's outing, Wesneski should be fully stretched out for a starting role and could be a candidate to move into the big-league rotation, which has an opening after Spencer Arrighetti (foot) was moved to the injured list Saturday. The Astros will need to add a new starter to the mix Wednesday in Anaheim, though it's unclear if Wesneski would be activated from the 60-day injured list to pitch on four days' rest, after he received at least five days of rest between each of his rehab appearances.

Prielipp (finger) is listed as the Twins' probable starting pitcher for Sunday's game versus the A's.

Prielipp landed on the shelf just before the All-Star break due to a blister on his left middle finger, but he's apparently been cleared to rejoin the big-league rotation after one rehab start. The left-hander initially appeared set to take the mound in Saturday's contest, but Kendry Rojas instead ended up making a spot start in place of Mike Paredes (oblique). Prielipp has a 5.00 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 71:25 K:BB across 66.2 innings this season in his first taste of the big leagues, and he could have some workload limitations Sunday since he covered just three frames in his rehab outing.

McLain (calf) served as the designated hitter and went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in a rehab game for Triple-A Louisville on Saturday.

McLain made his second rehab appearance with Louisville, after he started at shortstop and played six innings Friday. He can be activated from the 10-day injured list at any point and could be a candidate to rejoin the Reds prior to the start of a three-game set against the Guardians on Monday.

Aranda is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Aranda started the previous seven contests but will hit the bench Sunday. The first baseman has yet to get on track since the All-Star break with a .154/.214/.154 slash line and 38.1 percent strikeout rate in 10 games. Ryan Vilade is picking up the start at first base in the series finale versus Cleveland.

Carroll batted leadoff and went 0-for-3 with a run scored in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Nationals.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo tweaked the top of the order, which included moving Carroll from third to leadoff. Carroll entered Saturday in a funk, batting just .186 (8-for-47) over the previous 11 games. Ketel Marte, the primary leadoff hitter who entered Saturday batting .191 since July 9, was dropped to cleanup.

Marte batted fourth and went 0-for-4 in Saturday's 5-3 loss to Washington.

Arizona manager Torey Lovullo shuffled the top four spots in the order, which included moving Marte from leadoff to cleanup. The Diamondbacks entered Saturday having scored the most runs in baseball since July 9, but it was largely due to the lower half of the order. Other than Gabriel Moreno, the top half has struggled. Marte entered Saturday batting .191 (9-for-47) with a 28.0 strikeout percentage during that stretch.

Bassitt (back) threw a bullpen session Saturday, per MLB.com.

It's a significant step forward for Bassitt, who's continuing his throwing progression as he works his way back from an extended absence with lower-back tightness. The veteran right-hander received a facet injection in mid-June and then underwent a minor procedure to have a bone spur removed shortly thereafter. Bassitt is likely to require a lengthy rehab assignment once he's cleared for game action, so his return to Baltimore's rotation is unlikely to come until sometime in mid-to-late August.

Goodman went 1-for-4 with two RBI on Saturday against the Brewers.

Goodman started the scoring for the Rockies in the fourth inning, driving in two with an RBI single. He extended his hitting streak to a modest four games, and he has gone 8-for-25 with four home runs, nine RBI and five runs scored across seven games since the All-Star break.

McCarthy went 1-for-5 with two RBI on Saturday against the Brewers.

McCarthy was part of a ninth-inning rally for the Rockies, knocking in a pair with a single. He now has a career-high 58 RBI on the season, also extending his current hitting streak to 11 games. McCarthy has hit .319 with one home run, seven RBI and eight runs scored in that span to continue his excellent campaign.

Barnett (1-1) took the loss against Minnesota on Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out two batters over 3.1 innings.

Initial reports suggested Barnett would start Saturday's contest, but that role ultimately went to Brady Basso, who covered the first two frames. Barnett still ended up logging the longest outing among A's pitchers, tossing 54 pitches (35 strikes) across his 3.1 innings. The right-hander got through his first three frames unscathed, but he surrendered two runs in the sixth, which accounted for all of the scoring in the game. It remains to be seen how Barnett will be deployed moving forward, but he could be needed to make a few starts (or bulk-relief appearances) with J.T. Ginn (finger blister) currently on the 15-day IL.
