The Angels transferred Rivero (hand) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Rivero was pulled from his rehab assignment Monday after suffering a setback with his hand injury. He's been on the injured list since mid-June, so even though he's been shifted to the 60-day IL, he still could be back with the Angels before the end of the 2026 season. The move opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for Michael Fulmer, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Salt Lake.

McGreevy (5-9) picked up the win over the Cubs on Saturday, allowing three unearned runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six.

A two-out error by Blaze Jordan in the second inning eventually led to a three-run homer by Michael Conforto, but McGreevy shook it off and delivered his 14th quality start of the season on 102 pitches (61 strikes). The 26-year-old righty has been showing signs of fatigue since the All-Star break, however -- he's worked a career-high 132 innings this season, and over six starts since the break he's managed a 5.04 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 25:11 K:BB in 30.1 innings. McGreevy will look to build on this performance in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Cincinnati.

The Angels optioned Peralta to Triple-A Salt Lake following Friday's game against the Royals.

Peralta was recalled from the minors ahead of Friday's game and he went on to toss two innings in the series opener against Kansas City, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out three batters. He'll head back to Triple-A, where he's spent most of the 2026 season and has a 6.93 ERA and 1.56 WHIP over 49.1 innings. Michael Fulmer's contract was selected by the Angels in a corresponding move to bolster their bullpen.

The Angels selected Fulmer's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.

Fulmer spent most of the season in the Giants' minor-league system with Triple-A Sacramento before signing with the Angels this past Tuesday. He'll now head to the majors to bolster the Halos' bullpen after Sammy Peralta was optioned to Triple-A following Friday's game against the Royals. Fulmer sports a 2.93 ERA and 1.26 WHIP across 43 innings in Triple-A this season.

Torres went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the White Sox.

The second baseman did his job setting the table, but the heart of Detroit's order couldn't take advantage. Torres has three multi-hit efforts in his last four games, and through 13 contests in August he's batting .288 (15-for-52) with three homers, 10 RBI and 11 runs.

Grissom isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals, Erica Weston of Angels Broadcast Television reports.

Grissom will catch a breather Saturday after going 4-for-20 with an RBI, two runs and a steal across the Angels' last five games. Adam Frazier will man the keystone and bat eighth while Grissom rests.

Melton didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the White Sox, giving up three runs on nine hits and a walk over 4.1 innings. He struck out four.

It was the shortest outing of the season for Melton, who got the hook after 87 pitches (56 strikes) with the score tied 3-3. The right-hander continues to be stingy with long balls -- he didn't give up a homer for a fourth straight start Saturday, and since the beginning of July he's been taken deep just once in eight trips to the mound, posting a 1.16 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 48:16 K:BB over 46.2 innings. Melton will look to bounce back in his next start, which is set to come on the road next weekend in Kansas City.

Hudson struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Saturday to record his fifth save of the season in a 4-3 win over the Tigers.

Grant Taylor worked the eighth inning for the White Sox against the top of Detroit's order, leaving the ninth to Hudson, who got the job done on 13 pitches (nine strikes). It was Hudson's first save since July 22, but the southpaw has been prone to the occasional meltdown of late. Over 10.2 innings and 12 appearances since the All-Star break, he's produced two saves and three holds with a 6.75 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB.

Kay didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Tigers, giving up three runs on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

The southpaw got tagged for single runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings before leaving the mound after 86 pitches (57 strikes) with the score tied. Kay fell short of his third straight quality start, but he hasn't allowed more than three runs in a start since the beginning of July, posting a 3.27 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 33:13 K:BB in 41.1 innings over his last eight outings. He'll look for his 10th win of the season in his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against Atlanta.

Turang (knee) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Turang will miss a third consecutive start Saturday while battling discomfort in his left knee. He's scheduled to participate in fielding drills before the game, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and there's a chance Turang could be cleared to return for Sunday's series finale if things go well. In the meantime, new arrival Jonathan Ornelas will start at the keystone and bat ninth.
