Elmer Rodriguez SP | NYY
Yankees' Elmer Rodriguez: Recalled ahead of start
The Yankees recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Reds in New York.
Rodriguez is expected to make just one start for the big club before heading back to Triple-A, as manager Aaron Boone said Saturday that he simply wanted to build in an extra day of rest for the other members of the rotation. The 22-year-old righty will be making his fourth appearance of the season for New York after turning in a 4.15 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and 6:9 K:BB in 13 innings over his first three big-league starts.

Jackson Holliday 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Managing tight groin
Orioles manager Craig Albernaz said that Holliday was removed in the bottom of the eighth inning of Saturday's 3-2 win over the Dodgers due to groin tightness, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. Holliday went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts prior to his departure.
Albernaz said that he pulled Holliday from the game because he didn't want the groin issue to worsen, but the skipper didn't provide a firm indication whether he expects the infielder to miss additional time. Jeremiah Jackson came off the bench to replace Holliday in the field Saturday, and Jackson and Blaze Alexander would represent the main candidates to pick up playing time at the keystone if Holliday requires a stint on the IL.

Emilio Pagan RP | CIN
Reds' Emilio Pagan: Feels good following live BP
Pagan (hamstring) threw 20 pitches and used his entire repertoire in a live batting practice session Friday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Pagan faced live hitters for the first time since landing on the injured list May 6. The right-hander was pleased with his command and stuff during workout and is scheduled to throw another live BP session Monday. If all goes well Monday, Pagan could then out on a minor-league rehab assignment.

Austin Wells C | NYY
Yankees' Austin Wells: Back from IL
The Yankees reinstated Wells (headaches) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.
Wells will make his return following a two-week stint on the shelf due to cervical headaches. He completed a three-game rehab assignment at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre earlier in the week, during which he went 2-for-12 with a pair of home runs and two walks. The Yankees optioned J.C. Escarra to Triple-A on Saturday to open up a spot on the active roster for Wells, who will reclaim his gig as the team's No. 1 catcher.

Jose Cabrera SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jose Cabrera: MLB debut on tap
Cabrera will make his MLB debut Sunday in a start against the Twins, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.
This news confirms what was speculated Saturday, when Arizona added Cabrera to its taxi squad. The Diamondbacks are in need of starters after placing Ryne Nelson (elbow) and Michael Soroka (glute) on the injured list. Cabrera features a six-pitch mix, per Diamondbacks farm director Chris Slivka, and the 6-foot-3 right-hander has improved his command and control while upping his strikeout rate from 19.8 percent in 2025 to 28.7 percent this year in 12 starts (nine at Double-A Amarillo and three for Reno).

Brandon Pfaadt RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Brandon Pfaadt: Pitch counts climbing at Triple-A
Pfaadt allowed one unearned run on two hits and no walks while striking out four over 3.2 innings in a start for Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
Pfaadt, who was making his third start since being demoted to Triple-A, upped his pitch count to 52 (36 strikes). At the time of his demotion, the right-hander was pitching in relief and needed to be built back up as a starter. He owns a 1.80 ERA and 0.80 WHIP over 10 innings in the Pacific Coast League. With the Diamondbacks having placed two starters on the injured list over the weekend, Pfaadt is expected to eventually move into the major-league rotation once his pitch count gets up to the 75-to-80 range, per Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com.

James Outman CF | DET
Tigers' James Outman: Tallies two hits, stolen base
Outman went 2-for-2 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-1 win over the White Sox.
He came on as a defensive replacement after Jahmai Jones pinch hit for Kerry Carpenter in the fourth inning. Outman recorded his first multi-hit effort since joining the Tigers about 10 days ago as well as his first stolen base. The 29-year-old is seeing some run for the team, though he hasn't established a regular starting role and is still mostly off the fantasy radar due to his .173/.244/.293 slash line this season.

Jackson Merrill CF | SD
Padres' Jackson Merrill: Picking up pace on basepaths
Merrill went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two stolen bases Saturday in a 6-4 extra-inning win against Texas.
Merrill twice got himself into scoring position by knocking a single and following with a stolen base, but San Diego couldn't drive him in either time. The 23-year-old has been using his speed more often of late -- he has four steals across his past six games following an 18-game stretch with no steals on only one attempt. Merrill has also been swinging the bat well, slashing .304/.319/.522 with five extra-base hits (including two homers) and seven RBI over his past 10 contests.

Kendry Rojas RP | MIN
Twins' Kendry Rojas: Roughed up in rehab appearance
Rojas (triceps) yielded five earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out one batter across 1.1 innings of relief in a rehab appearance Thursday with Triple-A St. Paul.
Rojas made his first appearance in just over three weeks, after the Twins placed him on the 15-day injured list May 29 due to left triceps inflammation. Though the 23-year-old made one start and covered three-plus innings in three of his five appearances with the Twins prior to landing on the shelf, his usage Thursday suggests that Minnesota intends to bring him back in a bullpen role.

Tyler Holton RP | DET
Tigers' Tyler Holton: Records seventh hold
Holton tossed two scoreless innings of relief to earn a hold in Saturday's 4-1 win over the White Sox. He allowed two hits ans struck out two.
The southpaw was an effective bridge between starter Troy Melton, who allowed just one run across six solid innings, and closer Kenley Jansen. Holton lowered his ERA to 3.60 and earned his seventh hold of the season, which is tied for second on the team behind Kyle Finnegan's nine. Like he's done the past three years, Holton has been a trusted reliever for the Tigers who's capable of providing multiple innings.
