Gausman (9-11) earned the win against the Brewers on Thursday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk in seven innings. He struck out nine.

The right-hander outdueled Logan Henderson on Thursday, authoring one of his finest efforts as a member of the Cubs. Gausman registered his most strikeouts in a Chicago uniform, giving up one or no runs for the second time in six starts with his new club. He'll try to build more momentum his next time out in a road rematch with Milwaukee, holding a 4.37 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 38:8 K:BB in 35 innings since being traded from Toronto.

Rolison pitched a clean ninth inning with no strikeouts to record the save in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Brewers.

With Jacob Webb taking a comebacker off his forearm Wednesday, the Cubs needed to go in a different direction to close out Thursday's game, and Rolison was up to the task. Webb is experiencing soreness but will avoid a stint on the injured list, so Rolison's time as Chicago's closer may be short lived, though it's possible Webb misses a few more games. No matter what role he's been in this year, Rolison has been reliable with a 2.93 ERA and 49 strikeouts across 55.1 innings, and he now has two saves to his name as well.

Henderson (9-3) took the loss against the Cubs on Thursday, allowing two runs on three hits and no walks in seven innings. He struck out seven.

The right-hander was outdueled by Kevin Gausman on Thursday, taking a hard-luck loss in a valiant effort. Henderson continued to deal on the mound, rattling off his sixth straight quality start and fourth consecutive outing with fewer than three runs allowed. He'll look to keep the good times rolling his next time out in a home rematch with the Cubs, sporting a 2.48 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 93:14 K:BB in 83.1 innings.

Lopez (knee) struck out six over five scoreless innings in a rehab start Thursday with Triple-A Gwinnett, scattering two hits and two walks.

Making the third start of his rehab assignment, Lopez performed effectively while spotting 53 of his 93 pitches for strikes. The 32-year-old has been on the shelf since Aug. 2 while nursing left knee inflammation, but he now appears ready to rejoin the big club after turning in a 2.57 ERA and 1.14 WHIP over 14 innings during his rehab assignment. Since he's been building up as a starter at Triple-A, Lopez could end up unseating the struggling AJ Smith-Shawver in Atlanta's six-man rotation.

Ginn (undisclosed) is dealing with some fatigue/soreness, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Ginn had his latest turn in the rotation skipped Tuesday against Texas, and he's dealing with some unspecified fatigue/soreness prior to Thursday's series opener with the Mariners. The right-hander won't pitch at all during the team's four-game series in Seattle, and the A's haven't made a decision on a potential stint on the injured list for Ginn.

White (back) hasn't resumed any baseball activities yet, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

White has been dealing with lower-back tightness since Tuesday, and the team is expected to give him at least one more day to make recovery before making a decision on a potential stint on the injured list. The 23-year-old posted a .247 average with two home runs, three doubles, eight RBI and 10 runs scored in 26 games during August.

Dobbins underwent reconstructive surgery on his right elbow Wednesday and is expected to require a 12-month recovery, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Dobbins was placed on the 15-day injured list Aug. 22 with right forearm discomfort, but after he received a second opinion on the arm Tuesday, he opted to undergo elbow surgery. The 27-year-old has now undergone two procedures on his right elbow in his young career, and he may be forced to miss the entirety of the 2027 campaign while recovering. Dobbins made 11 appearances, including eight starts, with St. Louis this season, posting a 3.67 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with 52 strikeouts over 54 innings.

Donovan continues to experience concussion symptoms, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Donovan has still felt concussion symptoms like nausea, fatigue and dizziness while participating in pregame workouts, and he will not be cleared to play until he can make it through one of those workouts free of symptoms. The 29-year-old has been sidelined since he was hit in the head by a baseball prior to a game against the Cubs on Aug. 22.

Ohtani (biceps/knee) is considered day-to-day as he battles a pair of injuries, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

Ohtani is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's series finale with the Cardinals as he continues to battle through lingering left knee discomfort and an additional right biceps issue. Manager Dave Roberts outlined that the 32-year-old's availability off the bench Thursday and his status for Friday's series opener with the Nationals will depend on further conversations with the team's training staff. Roberts views a stint on the injured list as unlikely but "not impossible." The injuries have also further delayed Ohtani's potential return to the mound, which is now without an official timeline.

The Mariners recalled Davis (hamstring) from Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday and placed him on the 60-day injured list.

Davis hasn't played in a game at Tacoma since late May while recovering from a strained left hamstring. His move to the 60-day IL won't affect his return timeline, but it will free up a roster spot for Stuart Fairchild, who was selected to the active roster in a corresponding move. It's unknown how far away Davis is from returning.
