  • Eli White CF | ATL

Braves' Eli White: Not ready to start

White (foot) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Though Atlanta has an opening in its outfield after Michael Harris (personal) was placed on the paternity list Saturday, White didn't wind up starting in either of the team's final two games against Cleveland while contending with plantar fasciitis. Mauricio Dubon will end up taking Harris' spot in the outfield for a second straight day.

  • Kyle Freeland SP | COL

Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Managing sore shoulder

Freeland was scratched from his scheduled start Sunday against the Padres due to left posterior shoulder soreness, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

The injury seems to have been a late development since the Rockies were unable to get the change on the lineup card, resulting in Freeland technically starting the game without throwing a pitch. It's unclear if a trip to the injured list will be necessary, but it wouldn't be surprising if the left-hander needs to miss some time given the nature of the injury.

  • C.J. Kayfus 1B | CLE

Guardians' CJ Kayfus: Losing out on regular starts

Kayfus is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Kayfus will hit the bench for a fourth consecutive game, with the Guardians having faced three lefties and one righty during that stretch. The 24-year-old looks like he'll have to settle for a limited role as a fourth outfielder and backup first baseman with the hot-hitting Angel Martinez having taken control of a regular spot in the lineup.

  • Steven Kwan CF | CLE

Guardians' Steven Kwan: Exiting starting nine Sunday

Kwan is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Kwan will hit the bench for the first time all season after making 15 straight starts to kick off the campaign. Angel Martinez will draw a start in left field and will be replace Kwan as the Guardians' leadoff hitter in the series finale in Atlanta.

  • Kyle Freeland SP | COL

Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Late scratch Sunday

Freeland isn't pitching as scheduled for Sunday's game against the Padres for unspecified reasons, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

The left-hander never took the mound Sunday, though he technically still started the contest before being replaced without throwing a pitch. Freeland is presumably dealing with an injury of some kind, but his status going forward will remain up in the air until the team updates his status.

  • Jose Quintana SP | COL

Rockies' Jose Quintana: Could return Wednesday

Quintana (hamstring) threw a successful 21-pitch bullpen session Sunday and said he could re-enter Colorado's rotation as early as Wednesday at Houston, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

The veteran left-hander landed on the shelf due to a hamstring strain after his season debut March 29, but it appears he'll be able to rejoin the Rockies' rotation without a rehab assignment. The team has yet to announce its pitching plans for this week, but Quintana should be expected to take the mound Wednesday or shortly thereafter.

  • Padres' Miguel Andujar: Heading to bench Sunday

Andujar is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

After occupying the designated hitter spot in the previous two games, Andujar will cede those duties to Nick Castellanos in the series finale. The two players are continuing to form a timeshare at DH, with Andujar (.782 OPS in 40 plate appearances) having thus far outperformed Castellanos (.617 OPS in 34 plate appearances).

  • Padres' Bryce Johnson: Making third start of the season

Johnson will start in right field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Johnson will crack the lineup for just the third time in the Padres' first 16 games, with two of those starts having come against left-handed pitching. The switch-hitting outfielder is a platoon option for the Padres but won't necessarily be a regular presence in the lineup versus lefties while San Diego has most of its key position players available.

  • Brewers' Christian Yelich: Managing tight hamstring

Yelich was removed from Sunday's game against the Nationals due to left hamstring tightness, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Yelich beat out a potential double-play grounder during the first inning and didn't get down the line all that well, resulting in him being lifted after he grounded out again in the third frame. The veteran slugger will have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery, and at this point it's unclear if a trip to the injured list will be necessary.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Receiving first off day of 2026

Cronenworth is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Though the left-handed-hitting Cronenworth typically plays against most lefties, he'll take a seat for the first time this season Sunday while Colorado sends southpaw Kyle Freeland to the bump. Fernando Tatis will make a second straight start at second base in place of Cronenworth, who occupied shortstop in Saturday's 9-5 win while Xander Bogaerts received a breather.
