This was just another day at the office for Powell as he continues to put up some impressive numbers with his new squad. Through 24 regular-season appearances, he's shooting 48.3 percent from the field and 41.5 percent from beyond the arc to go with averages of 24.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals.

  Powell registered 18 points (7-21 FG, 1-11 3Pt, 3-5 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one steal over 34 minutes during Miami's 129-116 loss to Boston on Friday. Powell finished as Miami's second-leading scorer, but he accounted for 10 of the Heat's 30 missed three-pointers Friday, which was his most in a game since March 10, 2024, against the Bucks as a member of the Clippers (11 missed threes). Despite this off night, Powell has been the Heat's go-to option on offense in games when Tyler Herro (toe) hasn't played, and that shouldn't change for Sunday's road tilt against the Knicks if Herro remains out.

  Powell posted 24 points (8-14 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, two assists and three steals across 33 minutes during Thursday's 106-95 victory over the Nets. Powell had a tough time getting his shot to drop during Monday's loss to the Raptors, but he was hot from the jump in this one, drilling his first five field-goal attempts and closing out the first half by nailing an incredible, one-handed, running half-court heave. The 32-year-old veteran finished with a team-best plus-14 differential and helped the Heat hit the brakes on a five-game skid.

  Powell (calf) said he will play Thursday against the Nets, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Powell was recently upgraded from questionable to probable after missing Wednesday's practice. However, the star guard confirmed that he will be in the lineup to face the Nets on the front end of this back-to-back set. With Tyler Herro (toe) already ruled out, Powell is likely to see increased usage Thursday.
