Martin became a free agent prior to Saturday's 129-111 loss to the Raptors after his 10-day contract with the Pacers expired, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports. Martin's initial 10-day deal with the Pacers was awarded via a hardship exception, which Indiana was granted since it had at least four players who had missed three consecutive games and who were expected to be out for at least two more weeks. Though Aaron Nesmith (knee) recently joined Obi Toppin (foot), Kam Jones (back) and Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles) among players on the Pacers with long-term injuries, Nesmith has missed just one game thus far, and Indiana wasn't granted another roster exception since the team's remaining injured players -- Bennedict Mathurin (toe), Quenton Jackson (hamstring) and Johnny Furphy (ankle) -- are all apparently expected back within the next two weeks. Martin had been a regular part of the Indiana rotation during his week-and-a-half-long stay with the team, appearing in four games while averaging 1.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.0 steals, 0.5 assists and 0.5 blocks in 13.8 minutes per contest.

Martin (illness) isn't listed on the Pacers' injury report ahead of Saturday's game against Toronto. Martin missed Indiana's most recent game due to illness, but he's since recovered from the ailment. The veteran wing should see considerable playing time due to the absences of Bennedict Mathurin (toe), Aaron Nesmith (knee), Quenton Jackson (hamstring) and Johnny Furphy (ankle).

Martin (illness) won't play Thursday against the Suns. Martin has made four appearances thus far for the Pacers, playing an average of 13.8 minutes per night. His absence won't make any huge waves in the rotation.

Martin agreed to a contract with the Pacers on Wednesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. Martin will be joining the Pacers on a hardship exception, with the Pacers being granted another roster spot since the team had just eight healthy players available heading into Wednesday's game against the Nets. An accomplished NBA veteran, Martin holds career averages of 6.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.0 steals in 21.9 minutes per game over 259 appearances across six NBA seasons in stops with the Hornets and Suns. He could be part of the rotation right away Wednesday, though the Pacers may not look to him to handle major minutes right away.

The Suns won't guarantee Martin's $8.6 million contract for 2025-26, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports. Phoenix's decision allows Martin to enter free agency this summer. The veteran swingman landed with the Suns as part of the Jusuf Nurkic trade during the 2024-25 season, and Martin averaged 3.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.9 steals in 14.7 minutes across 14 outings in the desert. Martin's positional versatility and solid defense should give him some interest on the open market.
