Beasley has been officially indicted on federal gambling charges related to a sports betting scheme, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. This indictment includes point shaving and prop bets. Charania adds that the government is coordinating Beasley's voluntary surrender this week.

Beasley signed a contract Friday to play in Puerto Rico for the Santurce Crabbers in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional league in March, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Beasley was cleared from federal investigation this past August for improper gambling allegations, and he's now ready to get back onto the court while he waits for a ruling on the NBA investigation. The 29-year-old sharpshooter could garner plenty of attention during the 2026 offseason as an unrestricted free agent, provided the NBA clears him to return by then. Over 82 regular-season appearances for the Pistons in the 2024-25 campaign, Beasley averaged 16.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.9 steals and 3.9 three-pointers in 27.8 minutes per game while shooting 41.6 percent from deep.

Beasley is no longer a target of New York's gambling investigation, ESPN's Shams Charania reports Friday. Charania notes that the news could reopen Beasley's free agency, which was dormant this summer. While most NBA teams have their rosters set in stone, Beasley could still have a sizable market after a terrific 2024-25 campaign in which he averaged 16.3 points, 3.9 three-pointers, 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.9 steals across 27.8 minutes per contest during the regular season. He finished second in the NBA in total three-pointers made with 319.

Beasley is under federal investigation for gambling allegations related to NBA games and prop bets from the 2023-24 season while with the Bucks, Shams Charania of ESPN reports Sunday. Beasley's attorney, Steve Haney, told ESPN, "Malik is afforded the same right of the presumption of innocence as anyone else under the U.S. Constitution. As of now, he has not been charged with anything." Per Coty M. Davis of The Detroit News, the Pistons have acknowledged the situation and will defer any further comment to the NBA. Charania notes that Beasley and the Pistons were in serious talks on a three-year, $42 million contract that would return the sharpshooter to Detroit after he finished with 319 made three-pointers in the 2024-25 regular season, one shy of Anthony Edwards for the league high, but the negotiations have stalled.

Beasley contributed 20 points (6-13 FG, 6-13 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and two assists across 24 minutes during Thursday's 116-113 loss to the Knicks in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Beasley finished as the Pistons' third-leading scorer in Thursday's loss, recording 20 points for the second time during the first round. The sharpshooter was efficient from beyond the arc, bouncing back after a four-game stretch in which he shot just 23.5 percent from three-point range. The 28-year-old guard averaged 14.0 points, 3.3 three-pointers, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists across 27.2 minutes per game during the club's first-round series loss to the Knicks. Beasley is slated to become an unrestricted free agent after setting the Pistons' single-season record for three-pointers made (319). He also shot a career-high 41.6 percent from downtown. Beasley played in all 82 regular-season games (18 starts), finishing with averages of 16.3 points, 3.9 three-pointers, 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.9 steals across 27.8 minutes per contest.
