Hardy was one of several Dallas players who posted a solid line coming off the bench, and this 22-point output was his second-best output since the All-Star break. He's been on a solid run of play recently, scoring 15 or more points in three of his last five outings and averaging 13.0 points per game while shooting 52.2 percent from the floor in that span.

Even if he continues to come off the bench moving forward, Hardy could serve as a key scoring option for the Mavericks while Kyrie Irving (knee) is out for the season. However, after leading the Mavericks on Wednesday with a 31.3 percent usage rate, Hardy could see a slight decline in his overall shot volume if Klay Thompson (illness) and Brandon Williams (hamstring) are cleared to play in Dallas' next game Friday versus the Pistons.

  The Mavericks assigned Hardy to the G League's Texas Legends on Monday. Anthony Davis (thigh) was also assigned and will be going through a 5-on-5 scrimmage, so it's safe to assume Hardy will do the same. Hardy has missed seven straight games due to a sprained right ankle but doesn't have a return timetable, with NBA reporter Chris Haynes simply relaying that Hardy was expected to miss "a period of time" after suffering the injury.
