Markkanen (groin) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Magic. Markkanen will miss a second straight game due to right groin injury management. Kyle Filipowski drew the start in place of Markkanen on Thursday night and will likely remain in the starting lineup Thursday. Taylor Hendricks and Kyle Anderson should also see some additional run. Markkanen's next chance to play will come Monday at Denver for the opening leg of a back-to-back.

Markkanen (groin) is doubtful to play Saturday versus the Magic. It appears Saturday will mark Markkanen's second straight game on the sidelines, which should again result in Keyonte George and Ace Bailey dominating the offense. Check back for official word on Markkanen's status closer to Saturday's tipoff at 9:30 p.m. ET.

Markkanen (groin) will not play Thursday against the Lakers. The writing was on the wall when the Jazz listed Markkanen as questionable for right groin injury management. This is simply a maintenance day for Markkanen, something he experienced often during the 2024-25 season. Presumably, he will be back in the lineup for Saturday's game against Orlando. In the meantime, guys like Taylor Hendricks, Kyle Filipowski, Brice Sensabaugh and Kyle Anderson could pick up some run for the Jazz.

Markkanen is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Lakers due to right groin injury management, Ben Anderson of KSL News Salt Lake City reports. Markkanen is at risk of resting Thursday. If he were to miss the contest, Taylor Hendricks and Kyle Anderson would likely see more playing time. Markkanen has scored 26 or more points in four of his last five games, averaging 27.2 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals across 34.8 minutes during that span.

Markkanen notched 33 points (11-23 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 10-12 FT), 16 rebounds, five assists, one block and four steals across 40 minutes during Monday's 140-133 overtime victory over Dallas. While his 33 points were only third on the night behind Cooper Flagg (42) and Keyonte George (37), Markkanen led all players in rebounding, and his four steals were as much as the entire Mavericks starting lineup put together. It was only Markkanen's second double-double of the season, with the other being a 51-point, 14-board eruption against the Suns on Oct. 27. He's scored at least 30 points in six of his last 14 games, averaging 27.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.7 threes, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steals during that span.
