James registered zero points (0-1 FG) over three minutes during Tuesday's 101-94 victory over the Rockets in Game 2 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. James played just three minutes, failing to record a stat for the second straight game. At this point, he is simply coming on to provide a small amount of rest for others, while not being seen when it matters. Barring any significant injures, don't expect to see James on the floor much moving forward.

James supplied 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt), one rebound, four assists and one steal in 19 minutes during Sunday's 131-107 win over the Jazz. James took advantage of the minutes he logged off the bench and posted a decent stat line all around. His improvement compared to the rookie year has been noticeable, but he's not likely to play a big role in the Lakers' rotation throughout the playoffs, even with Luka Doncic (hamstring) and Austin Reaves (oblique) sidelined.

The Lakers recalled James from the G League's South Bay Lakers on Saturday, Ryan Ward of SI.com reports. The parent club was off Saturday, so James was assigned to South Bay for the club's regular-season finale in order to pick up some meaningful run. The second-year guard finished Saturday's 140-132 win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce with 26 points (9-12 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and one steal in 37 minutes. While he typically hasn't been a rotation player at the NBA level this season, James could end up getting some minutes in Monday's game against the Wizards due to Luka Doncic being suspended for the contest and Marcus Smart (ankle) being uncertain to play.

The Lakers assigned James to the G League's South Bay Lakers on Saturday, Ryan Ward of SI.com reports. James will return to the G League, where he has appeared in 13 regular-season games while averaging 14.8 points, 3.5 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals over 28.3 minutes per contest. He'll get more reps with South Bay, though James did play in each of Los Angeles' last two games.

The Lakers assigned James to the G League's South Bay Lakers on Thursday, Trevor Lane of LakersNation.com reports. James will presumably be available to play in Thursday's G League matchup against Sioux Falls. The Lakers may also elect to bring him back in time to be with the team for Friday's matchup against Brooklyn.
