The Mavericks signed Edwards to a two-way contract Friday, Sam Amico of HoopsWire.com reports. Edwards received a minimal role for Sacramento in 2023-24, averaging just 5.1 minutes across 54 regular-season appearances. In Dallas, Edwards is now set to split time between the Mavericks and their G League affiliate, the Texas Legends.

The Kings did not extend a qualifying offer to Edwards, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports. Edwards is now set to become an unrestricted free agent. He made 54 appearances for the Kings in 2023-24 but didn't make much of an impact with an average of 1.7 points in 5.1 minutes per contest.

Edwards ended with one rebound in two minutes during Tuesday's 118-94 Play-In Game win over the Warriors. Edwards closed the game Tuesday, handed a couple of garbage time minutes as the Kings eliminated the Warriors. It's been a disappointing season for Edwards and given his limited role, it is hard to see him featuring too much, even if the Kings advance to the playoffs.

Edwards saw some run in a close game, though it wasn't nearly enough playing time for him to make any noise from a fantasy perspective. The Kings recalled Edwards from the G League's Stockton Kings on Saturday, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports. Edwards will return to the NBA after a brief stint in the NBA. However, Edwards is unlikely to receive significant minutes for Sacramento.
