  Suggs (hip) might be out for an extended period, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports Saturday. Suggs was clearly battling discomfort for a few games, but he was playing through the pain and scored 25 first-half points against the Knicks on Saturday during an NBA Cup semifinals matchup. However, the point guard aggravated the issue in the third quarter and was ultimately unable to finish the contest despite multiple efforts to stay in the game. Suggs will be evaluated over the next couple of days, but it sounds like the team is preparing to be without him for at least a few weeks. "He's been battling through some pain the last few games," Magic forward Paolo Banchero said. "He's just been giving it his all for the team and kind of playing through it, so you hope it's not too bad, whatever the injury is. We don't want to lose him."

Suggs continues to remain active on the defensive end, extending his steal streak to seven games, averaging 15.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 2.7 steals, 0.9 blocks and 2.1 threes in that span. While he has not been shooting the ball well from beyond the arc (meager 33.3 percent clip this season), he continues to factor in as a two-way presence and has been integral to Orlando's success.

  Suggs (leg) exited to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 106-100 loss to the Knicks and didn't return. He finished with 17 points (6-16 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four assists, three rebounds, two steals and one block in 32 minutes. Suggs limped to the locker room after grabbing at his upper leg/groin area in the final quarter, though he returned to the bench shortly thereafter. The 24-year-old point guard's status will still be worth monitoring ahead of Tuesday's NBA Cup game against Miami, and if he's unable to play, Anthony Black is expected to enter the starting five.
