  • Spurs' Victor Wembanyama: Limps to locker room

Wembanyama went to the locker room during the first quarter of Thursday's game against the Bucks due to an apparent knee injury, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.

Wembanyama looked to bump knees with Giannis Antetokounmpo early in the first quarter and immediately went to the locker room after the play. He can be considered questionable to return until the team provides an update.

  • Mavericks' Dwight Powell: Drawing spot start Thursday

Powell is in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Jazz.

Powell will be asked to join the starting five with the Mavs missing a good chunk of the starting frontcourt Thursday. He'll presumably tackle a heavier workload than usual with both Daniel Gafford (ankle) and P.J. Washington (ankle) out.

  • Mavericks' Daniel Gafford: Won't play Thursday

Gafford (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Jazz.

Gafford will hit the sidelines for the second leg of a back-to-back, and for now, he should be considered questionable for Saturday's rematch with Utah. Dwight Powell will have the opportunity to start with Gafford unavailable, and Moussa Cisse could see an uptick in minutes.

  • Jalen Duren C | DET

Pistons' Jalen Duren: Will play Thursday

Duren (ankle) is available for Thursday's game against the Suns.

Duren was listed on the injury report as probable due to an ankle injury that's held him out of his team's last four games, but he'll be back in action against Phoenix. He should return to the starting lineup Thursday.

  • Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Could return Friday

Sabonis (knee) was a full participant during Thursday's practice, and he could be cleared to play Friday against the Wizards, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports.

Regardless of whether Sabonis ultimately gets the green light to return Friday, the fact that the big man is close to healthy is a huge positive for Sacramento. He's missed the team's last 27 games while recovering from a partial meniscus tear in his left knee and was off to a solid start to the 2025-26 season before going down. He can be considered questionable for Friday until the team provides another update. Maxime Raynaud will likely flip back to a bench role once Sabonis is 100 percent and rid of any type of minutes restriction.

  • Joel Embiid C | PHI

76ers' Joel Embiid: Tagged as probable for Friday

Embiid is probable for Friday's game against the Cavaliers due to left knee injury management, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.

Embiid is back on the injury report after also being considered probable leading up to Wednesday's matchup. If all goes according to plan, he should be good to go Friday.

  • Ivica Zubac C | IND

Clippers' Ivica Zubac: Could play Friday

Zubac is questionable for Friday's game against the Raptors, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.

Zubac sat out of Wednesday's game due to a left ankle sprain, but he'll have a shot to return Friday night. The team should have a better idea of his availability after shootaround and leading up to pregame warmups.

  • Jakob Poeltl C | TOR

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Won't return Friday

Poeltl (back) is out for Friday's game against the Clippers, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Poeltl was cleared for contact back on Jan. 5, but the Raptors have yet to provide an updated timetable. In the meantime, the team will likely continue to lean on Collin Murray-Boyles at center.

  • Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Sitting out Thursday

Robinson (ankle) is out for Thursday's game against the Warriors.

The Knicks are giving Robinson Thursday night off, which is the second part of their back-to-back, for ankle injury management. Ariel Hukporti and Guerschon Yabusele should split the backup minutes at center behind Karl-Anthony Towns on Thursday.

  • Jaxson Hayes C | LAL

Lakers' Jaxson Hayes: Ruled out Thursday

Hayes (hamstring) won't play in Thursday's game against the Hornets, per Thuc Nhi Nguyen of the Los Angeles Times.

Hayes will be trying to end a two-game absence with hamstring soreness Saturday in Portland. The door is open for Maxi Kleber to claim the backup center role behind Deandre Ayton on Thursday, while Jarred Vanderbilt could also see a bump in minutes.
