Burton played in all 17 regular-season games in 2024 and finished with seven carries for eight yards and a touchdown while catching 10 passes on as many targets for 65 yards and a score. Burton didn't make the Broncos' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but he eventually was signed to the active roster in mid-September after initially staying on the practice squad. He mostly served in a special-teams role and didn't play more than 13 offensive snaps in all but one regular-season game (Week 18 against the Chiefs; 24 snaps on offense). On offense, he mostly was used as an extra blocker in the running game, though he did manage to register a career-high 10 catches, three of which came Week 16 against the Chargers when he also caught a one-yard touchdown pass from Bo Nix. Burton will explore his options during the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.

Burton caught all three of his targets for 19 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 34-27 loss to the Chargers. Burton's touchdown was his first score through the air this season and second trip to the end zone overall in 2024. The veteran fullback played just 10 of the Broncos' 64 offensive snaps Thursday, playing in his usual part-time role in Denver's offense. Despite the score in Week 16, Burton remains far off the fantasy radar due to his extremely limited usage. Next up for the Broncos is a matchup against the Bengals in Week 17.

The Broncos signed Burton off their practice squad Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports. Burton has appeared in all 10 of the Broncos games this season, recording two carries for minus-one yards and five receptions for 40 yards across 275 total snaps (177 on offense and 98 on special teams). Expect the Rutgers product to serve as Denver's top fullback again in Sunday's game against Atlanta.

He was released by Denver on Friday, but he's opted to stick around on the practice squad and he'll be available for Sunday's contest.
