The Ravens placed Pierce (calf) on injured reserve Wednesday. Pierce failed to record a stat across 13 defensive snaps before sustaining a calf injury in the Ravens' Week 8 loss to the Browns. The issue now appears serious enough to land Pierce on IR, forcing him to miss Baltimore's next four games. His earliest possible return would be in Week 13 against the Eagles. Expect Broderick Washington to see additional reps with the Ravens' first-team defense while Pierce is sidelined over the coming weeks.

Pierce (calf) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Browns. With Pierce and Brent Urban (concussion) sidelined for the rest of Sunday's contest, the Ravens' defensive front is down to Travis Jones, Nnamdi Madubuike and Broderick Washington.

Pierce (shoulder) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. Pierce was inactive for the Ravens' Week 4 win against the Bills due to a shoulder injury. The extended rest appears to have done the 31-year-old nose tackle some good, and he should be ready to go for Sunday's game against the Bengals. Pierce has tallied seven tackles (three solo), including 0.5 sacks, and one pass defended across three regular-season games.

Pierce (shoulder) has been downgraded to doubtful ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Bills. Pierce appeared to be past his shoulder injury after practicing in full Thursday and Friday, but he's now in jeopardy of missing Sunday night's contest. If Pierce isn't able to suit up in Week 4 as expected, Brent Urban and Broderick Washington are projected to see more work with the Ravens' first-team defensive line.

Pierce and the Ravens agreed to a two-year, $7.5 million extension Saturday, Field Yates of ESPN reports. The 31-year-old has spent six of his seven years in the NFL with the Ravens, and he'll remain in Baltimore through the 2025 season after inking an extension Saturday. Pierce has been having one of the best seasons of his career thus far, appearing in all 16 of the Ravens' games and recording 36 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, while also deflecting two passes. Expect the 355-pound nose tackle to continue being a major part of Baltimore's run defense for years to come.
