McLeod (biceps) said Tuesday he plans to retire after the 2024 season, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports. McLeod is presumably healthy after a biceps injury limited him to 10 appearances (five starts) in 2023. He signed a one-year deal back in March to return to Cleveland for a second season. The soon-to-be 34-year-old will likely serve as a depth option in the secondary while also handling a role on special teams.

The Browns re-signed McLeod (biceps) on a one-year deal Saturday, per The Cleveland Plain Dealer. The veteran safety is back with Cleveland after spending his 2023 campaign with the Browns. McLeod appeared in just 10 games (five starts) last season due to a biceps injury, but he was fairly productive when on the field, logging 29 total tackles and defending one pass. The 33-year-old also contributed on special teams with 108 special teams snaps in 2023, and he's expected to compete for a similar role this offseason.

McLeod started at strong safety and had five total tackles, two passes defensed and an interception in Sunday's win over Kansas City. McLeod played on all 59 of the defense's snaps as he got increased playing time with rookie Nick Cross moving back to the bench (just one snap on defense). It looks like McLeod has a starting role and should continue to get plenty of snaps with Julian Blackmon possibly missing time with a sprained ankle.

The Colts placed McLeod (undisclosed) on the active/PUP list Sunday, Chris Widlic of CBS4Indy reports. McLeod signed a contract with the Colts at the beginning of April following three seasons with the Eagles. The extent of his injury remains unknown, but he's eligible to return at any point before the initial 53-man roster deadline. When available, he figures to play a key role in Indianapolis' secondary.

McLeod was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday. McLeod spent a week in COVID protocols and was forced to miss the Eagles' Week 18 game with the Cowboys. Now healthy, McLeod should get the start at strong safety against the Buccaneers.
