The NFL reinstated Tucker on Tuesday after he served a 10-game suspension, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. After a 13-year run in Baltimore, Tucker was released in May before the NFL suspended him a month later for violating the league's personal conduct policy. A seven-time Pro Bowl selection, Tucker ranks fourth in NFL history with a 89.1 percent conversion rate on field goals, but he's coming off a career-worst 2024 campaign in which he missed eight of 30 field-goal tries and two of his 62 point-after attempts. The 35-year-old kicker's declining accuracy coupled with his off-field baggage could limit interest from teams even though his suspension has now been lifted.

The NFL announced Thursday that Tucker has been suspended the first 10 weeks of the 2025 regular season for violating the league's personal conduct policy, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Tucker's suspension comes following his release by the Ravens in early May, and as a consequence of the league's investigation for improper conduct relating to off-field allegations. Baltimore selected Tyler Loop in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft as a replacement for Tucker. The veteran is entering his age-36 campaign and declined notably in 2024, connecting on just 24 of his 32 field-goal attempts across 17 appearances during the regular season and two playoff games. Tucker will first be eligible for reinstatement Nov. 11, but teams around the league may not have serious interest in signing a declining player facing both serious accusations and a hefty suspension.

The Ravens have released Tucker. Per Kevin Patra of NFL.com, Tucker -- who had been with the Ravens since 2012 -- remains under league investigation for potential improper conduct, and the team now has elected to part ways with the veteran kicker, who converted 22 of his 30 field-goal attempts over 17 regular-season games in 2024. Tyler Loop, who was selected in the sixth round of last month's draft, thus appears to be in line to handle Baltimore's kicking duties this coming season, though it's possible the team could add some depth at the position ahead of training camp.

Tucker has been working out at Baltimore's training facility, and the Ravens are currently approaching the competition between him and rookie Tyler Loop "purely on football," Giana Han of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports. Tucker uncharacteristically struggled last year, converting just 22 of 30 field-goal attempts over 17 regular-season games. He's also currently under investigation by the NFL due to off-field allegations. The Ravens selected Loop in the sixth round of April's draft, suggesting that Tucker's role with the team is hazy considering the league's investigation and his unsatisfactory kicking last year.

Tucker finished the 2024 regular season going 22-for-30 on field goals and 60-for-62 on extra points across 17 games. The 2024 season was Tucker's toughest season to date by a wide margin. In 12 previous seasons, Tucker had never converted less than 82 percent of his field goal tries. This season, Tucker notched a 73.3 percent conversion rate, the second-worst figure among kickers with at least 30 attempts. He endured a particularly tough stretch in November when he went 4-for-8 on field goals and also missed two extra points. He turned things around down the stretch, making all three FGA (including two from 50+) and all 18 PATs in the final four games. A season like this means that Tucker is likely no longer the best kicker for fantasy but at age 35 and with a contract that could run through 2027, he can still be a fantasy asset.
