  King was elevated to the Falcons' active roster from their practice squad Monday, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports. King was elevated from the practice squad for a Week 1 loss to the Steelers but reverted after that game. This move will make him a permanent part of the Falcons' active roster, barring him getting released. He'll likely be tasked with bolstering the Falcons' depth in the secondary, as well as chipping in on special teams.

  The Falcons released King on Tuesday, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports. King worked with the second-team defense in multiple positions during training camp and made a splash during the preseason, but the Falcons kept only five cornerbacks on their initial 53-man roster. Falcons assistant defensive coach Jerry Gray was the secondary coach in Green Bay when King was at his peak, so despite getting cut, it's possible King's familiarity with the coaching staff helps him secure a practice squad deal if he doesn't get a contract elsewhere.

  King recorded three tackles (two solo), a forced fumble, two pass defenses and an interception during Friday's 20-13 preseason loss to the Dolphins. King is trying to revitalize his career and took a big step toward securing a roster spot during his first appearance in a Falcons uniform. The 2017 second-round pick started 42 games for the Packers across five seasons but hasn't played since 2021 due to multiple devastating injuries. Atlanta has been rumored to be interested in the remaining free-agent CBs, but if King continues to play at this level, he may put those notions to rest.

  King signed with the Falcons on Monday, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports. King sat out the 2022 season for personal reasons and then missed 2023 due to a torn Achilles that he sustained during an offseason workout. The 2017 second-rounder will look to secure a role in the Falcons' secondary after recording 29 tackles and a pick in 10 regular-season outings (six of which were starts) for the Packers in 2021.

  King (hip) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Rams, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports. King was unable to get on the practice field this week, and his status is thus in jeopardy. If he is unable to suit up, Chandon Sullivan would be in line for extra snaps.
