  • Rudolph will serve as the Steelers' backup quarterback in Sunday's game against the Bills with Aaron Rodgers (wrist) having been cleared to start, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports. Rudolph played the entire second half of the Steelers' Week 11 win over the Bengals and then started last Sunday's loss to the Bears, finishing with 36 completions on 47 attempts for 298 yards, two touchdowns and one interception between the two outings. With Rodgers concluding Week 13 prep as a full practice participant, Rudolph will be back in his more typical No. 2 role this Sunday.

  • Rudolph completed 24 of 31 passes for 171 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Bears. He added three rushes for seven yards while also losing a fumble. Rudolph drew a spot start with Aaron Rodgers (wrist) sidelined and managed to move the Steelers' offense fairly effectively, leading three touchdown drives. His lone passing score came on a short six-yard swing pass to DK Metcalf, and he was generally most comfortable working in short areas of the field. That led to a mediocre fantasy performance, and Rudolph's effort also came up short on the field after a critical lost fumble late in the third quarter that changed the momentum of the game. Head coach Mike Tomlin indicated after the game that Rodgers is likely to return in Week 13 against Buffalo, per Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site, meaning Rudolph will likely return to the bench.

Aaron Rodgers (wrist) might not play in Week 12 at Chicago, and we'll see how long Rodgers could be out, if at all. It's worth adding Rudolph in all Superflex and two-quarterback leagues just in case for at least 5 percent of your remaining FAB, and Rudolph has a great matchup against the Bears, who are No. 6 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks. He came on for Rodgers in Week 11 against Cincinnati and was 12-of-16 passing for 127 yards and one touchdown, and Rudolph scored at least 18.4 Fantasy points in four of eight appearances for the Titans in 2024.

  • Rudolph completed 12 of 16 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown while rushing once for minus-1 yard after replacing Aaron Rodgers (left wrist) in Sunday's 34-12 win over the Bengals. Rudolph came into the game to start the third quarter after Rodgers hurt his non-throwing hand on Pittsburgh's penultimate offensive play of the first half. The backup quarterback's touchdown came on a five-yard pass to Kenneth Gainwell in the fourth quarter, matching Rodgers' 11-yard touchdown pass to Gainwell in the first quarter, and Pittsburgh's defense chipped in a pair of touchdowns in the lopsided victory. More clarity on Rodgers' status should surface in the coming days, as coach Mike Tomlin said after the game that Rodgers will be evaluated Monday morning, per Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com. If Rodgers isn't available in Week 12 at Chicago, Rudolph would presumably get the start over recently healed rookie sixth-round pick Will Howard.

  • Rudolph is signing a two-year contract with the Steelers, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. The 2018 third-round pick will return to Pittsburgh after a one-year detour to Tennessee, where he went 1-4 as a starter while completing 64.0 percent of his passes for 6.7 YPA (with nine TDs and nine INTs on 228 pass attempts). Rudolph was better than Will Levis but subpar by pretty much any other standard, likely putting him in a backup role for 2025 unless things go horribly wrong for the Steelers over the next couple months. They're reportedly trying to sign Aaron Rodgers, and if that doesn't happen they may consider re-signing Russell Wilson or trading for Kirk Cousins. The initial report on Rudolph's contract has it at two years and $8 million, with $4.5 million guaranteed, putting him in the middle of the market for backup quarterbacks.
