  • Ahead of next month's training camp, Bryan Manning of USA Today notes that the Commanders have yet to identify a clear No. 2 wide receiver to complement McLaurin. Following a 2025 regular season in which he recorded a 38/582/3 receiving line on 60 targets in 10 contests, McLaurin -- who topped 1,000 receiving yards 2020-2024 -- returns as QB Jayden Daniels' top WR target, a context that should garner the 2019 third-rounder plenty of volume in 2026. It remains to been seen how the depth chart will shake out beyond McLaurin, however, and to that end Luke McCaffrey, Antonio Williams, Treylon Burks, Dyami Brown and Jaylin Lane are set to compete for roles this summer. Additionally, it's still possible that the Commanders bring in some veteran pass-catching help, with Brandon Aiyuk, who appears to have played his last snap with the 49ers, having been mentioned as a possibility on that front.

  • New Commanders offensive coordinator David Blough wants McLaurin to get "10 targets a game," according to UWSA9's John Doran. "This thing's going to be built around how do we get [McLaurin] 10 targets a game," said Blough. "And get [McLaurin] explosive receptions after explosive receptions to kind of flip the field." It sounds promising from a fantasy standpoint, but McLaurin has reached eight targets per game just once in his seven NFL seasons (8.9 in 2020). He finished 2025 with career lows for games played (10), targets per game (6.0) and yards per game (58.2), among other statistics, though he also averaged 9.7 YPT and had a career-high 61.7 percent success rate on targets. There's a strong enough bounce-back argument for 2026, even if the volume mentioned by Blough is unrealistic.

  • McLaurin recorded four receptions on four targets for 57 yards in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Eagles. McLaurin was the only pass catcher to get anything going for the Commanders, as Josh Johnson managed just 131 passing yards. McLaurin made a long catch of 25 yards early in the second quarter, though he also drew four defensive penalties, two of which helped keep touchdown drives alive. McLaurin endured a tough 2025 season due to his own struggles to stay on the field, as well as Jayden Daniels (elbow) missing a significant portion of the year. However, McLaurin should have a strong chance to bounce back in 2026, as he had logged five consecutive seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards entering the current campaign.

  • McLaurin caught five of seven targets for 63 yards in the Commanders' 30-23 loss to the Cowboys on Christmas Day. The five catches led Washington on the day, although Deebo Samuel finished with five more yards. McLaurin has been consistently productive since returning from a quadriceps strain in Week 13 despite the team's revolving door at quarterback, putting together a 21-322-2 line on 35 targets over the last five games. The star wideout will look to cap a disappointing season with a big performance in Week 18 against the Eagles.

  • Commanders' Terry McLaurin: WRs to Start
    By Jamey Eisenberg

McLaurin might seem tough to trust with Josh Johnson starting for the injured Marcus Mariota (hand/quadriceps), but I still like McLaurin as a No. 2 Fantasy receiver in all leagues against the Cowboys in Week 17. Dallas is No. 1 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, and eight guys in the past five games have scored at least 14.5 PPR points against the Cowboys, with nine touchdowns. McLaurin missed Week 7 against Dallas due to injury, but he combined for 13 catches for 164 yards and two touchdowns on 18 targets against Dallas in two games last year.
