The NFL reinstated Jelks from suspension Tuesday, per the NFL transaction log. Jelks will now have an opportunity to sign with a team in need of defensive end depth. He has yet to appear in an NFL regular-season game since being drafted by the Cowboys in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Panthers claimed Jelks off waivers Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Jelks was waived by the Cowboys in order to make room for Everson Griffen on the roster, but he didn't have to wait long to find a new team. The 24-year-old has yet to see regular-season action since he came into the league as a seventh-round pick in the 2019 draft.

Jelks (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, per the league's official transactions report. It remains to be seen what sort of injury the rookie seventh-round pick is dealing with. Jelks was working to carve out a role on special teams with the Cowboys.
