  • C.J. Uzomah: Gets cut loose
    By RotoWire

Uzomah was released by the Eagles on Wednesday, EJ Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Uzomah's exit comes as a bit of a surprise after signing a one-year contract with the team in April. His departure will leave Albert Okwuegbunam, E.J. Jenkins, Kevin Foelsch and Armani Rogers battling for what will likely be one or two spots on the Eagles' final 53-man roster at tight end.

  • Eagles' C.J. Uzomah: Participating in OTAs
    By RotoWire

Uzomah (knee) was seen participating at the Eagles' organized training activities Friday, Dave Zangaro of nbcsportsphiladelphia.com reports. Uzomah's 2023 campaign came to an early end after suffering a knee injury in December and subsequently being placed on the Jets' injured reserve. He was ultimately released by New York before later landing in Philadelphia. His participation at OTAs indicates his health is back up to par. The veteran is expected to compete for the Eagles' No. 2 tight end role behind Dallas Goedert.

  • Uzomah (knee) agreed to a one-year contract with the Eagles on Thursday, Olivia Reiner of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. After spending the first nine years of his career with the Bengals and Jets, Uzomah has found a new home in Philadelphia. The nine-year veteran appeared in the Jets' first 12 games in 2023 before sustaining a season-ending MCL injury. In those contests, Uzomah tallied eight receptions for 58 yards and one touchdown. Once 31-year-old has recovered from his MCL issue, he's expected to compete for the Eagles' top backup tight end role behind Dallas Goedert.

Uzomah finished the 2023 season on injured reserve with an MCL injury, and he'll likely have to compete for a backup job if he wants to continue his NFL career.

  • Uzomah (knee) is expected to be released by the Jets this offseason, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. The veteran tight end finished the 2023 season on injured reserve after spraining his MCL in Week 13. His signing has proved to be a disaster for Jets GM Joe Douglas, as Uzomah has produced just 29 catches for 290 yards and three touchdowns across 27 contests with the team. Entering the final year of a three-year, $24 million deal, Uzomah is due an $8 million salary in 2024. The Jets can save $5.3 million against the cap by releasing the 31-year-old, leaving behind over $5.9 million in dead money.
