Jackson (shoulder) was absent from Thursday's injury report, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. Jackson suffered a shoulder injury during the Steelers' Week 7 win over the Jets. It appears to be a minor issue, however, as the 2018 second-round pick was able to practice Thursday without limitations. Barring any setbacks, Jackson should start at corner opposite Joey Porter against the Giants on Monday.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Jackson (shoulder) is dealing with a "minor" injury that shouldn't impact his availability during Monday's game against the Giants, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports. Jackson was forced out of Sunday's win over the Jets due to a shoulder issue, but Pittsburgh doesn't anticipate him missing further time due to the injury. Prior to his early departure Week 7, Jackson had played over 80 percent of defensive snaps in each of his first six appearances.

Jackson (shoulder) will not return to Sunday's game against the Jets, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports. The cornerback made two tackles (two solo), including a tackle for a loss, before leaving the game. Jackson came into Sunday night with 18 tackles (12 solo), six passes defensed and three interceptions. James Pierre is Pittsburgh's extra cornerback.

Jackson recorded two total tackles (one solo) and two passes defended, including one interception, during Sunday's 18-10 win over the Falcons. Jackson was traded from the Panthers to Steelers earlier this past offseason, and he impressed in Week 1 with his new team. The 28-year-old cornerback tied DeShon Elliott for the team lead in both passes defended and interceptions Sunday, and Jackson's pick put the Steelers in the driver's seat in the fourth quarter. Expect Jackson to continue lining up opposite Joey Porter and wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks as the season progresses.

Jackson is expected to be released or traded by the Panthers before March 16, when he is due a $4 million roster bonus, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Jackson played 16 games last year in his sixth season with Carolina, but it appears the veteran corner will not spend his seventh NFL campaign with the franchise. He ended 2023 with 59 combined tackles, five passes defended and no interceptions. His release would save the team $5.9 million in cap space this offseason.
