Osborn, who was on the field for 51 of the Patriots' 68 snaps on offense in Sunday's 23-20 overtime loss to the Seahawks, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, caught one of his two targets for seven yards in the contest. Osborn and Ja'Lynn Polk (41 snaps) started at wide receiver for the Patriots in Week 2, while DeMario Douglas (38 snaps) and Tyquan Thornton (31 snaps) were also in the mix. Going forward, there will be weeks in which Osborn and his fellow WRs will be more involved, but against the Seahawks at least, New England's offense was pace by the run game, with tight end Hunter Henry (eight catches on 12 targets) serving as QB Jacoby Brissett's top target.

Osborn, who was on the field for 40 of 65 snaps on offense in the Patriots' 16-10 season-opening win over the Bengals on Sunday, caught three of his six targets for 21 yards, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. The former Viking was in the team's starting lineup along with Tyquan Thornton (38 snaps) and DeMario Douglas (39) and saw a nearly identical workload, while 2024 second-rounder Ja'Lynn Polk (35 snaps) was also firmly in the mix. Osborn led the team in targets, however. New England's target distribution could be fluid early on this season as the offense adapts to a flood of new faces, including Osborn, Polk, QB Jacoby Brissett and offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt. For now, Osborn's fantasy utility seems limited to deeper formats.

Osborn recorded two receptions (on four targets) for 17 yards in Sunday's 20-10 preseason loss to the Commanders. Osborn was a starting outside receiver alongside Tyquan Thornton and was second on the team with 21 snaps on the first 31 offensive plays. He was targeted deep regularly, and he did connect with Drake Maye on a 48-yard catch -- only for it to be nullified by a penalty. The Patriots appear set to rotate their wide receiver corps early in the season, and Osborn is in the group that should see the field plenty Week 1 against Cincinnati.

Osborn logged four snaps in Thursday's 17-3 preseason win over the Panthers, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. In his brief appearance in the Patriots' exhibition opener, Osborn wasn't targeted, but he did get his limited snaps in with the starting offense in a game which DeMario Douglas (hand) and Kendrick Bourne (knee, PUP) were unavailable for. As the coming season approaches, it's plausible that Osborn could secure a key role in the team's WR corps out of the gate, particularly if Bourne is out or limited come Week 1. While Douglas appears destined to have a steady role for the team, there's otherwise plenty left to be sorted out this preseason, with Osborn, Ja'Lynn Polk, Javon Baker, Tyquan Thornton, Kayshon Boutte and Jalen Reagor all competing for depth chart slotting.

Osborn and JuJu Smith-Schuster were the first wide receivers through drills Thursday, Henry McKenna of FOX Sports reports. This is unlikely to change anyone's mind about rookie second-round pick Ja'Lynn Polk and second-year pro DeMario Douglas being the New England wideouts generating the most fantasy attention. Osborn has a chance at a top-three role and quite a bit of playing time, but his output as the No. 3 receiver in Minnesota the past three seasons suggests he's highly unlikely to be targeted at a high rate even if he's on the field a lot. He signed a one-year, $4 million contract with the Patriots in March, setting him up to compete with Polk, Douglas, Smith-Schuster, rookie fourth-round pick Javon Baker and (eventually) Kendrick Bourne (ACL tear).
