  • 49ers' Dre Greenlaw: Not near return
    By RotoWire

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Greenlaw (Achilles) is not expected to be ready to return from the PUP list until a few weeks after the 49ers' Week 9 bye, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. The linebacker tore his left Achilles' tendon last February in the 49ers' Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs, which means he is roughly eight months removed from the injury. San Francisco will play the Buccaneers on Nov. 10 and Seahawks on Nov. 17 after its bye week, but at this stage, Greenlaw doesn't look to be trending toward a return for either of those contests.

  • Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that he's "hoping" Greenlaw (Achilles) can return from the reserve/PUP list around the middle of the season, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Greenlaw is still recovering from surgery to address the torn left Achilles' tendon he suffered during the 49ers' loss in the Super Bowl back in February. He has yet to resume practicing and remains without a concrete timetable for his return. Greenlaw's first chance to return will come against the Cardinals on Sunday, Oct. 6. In the meantime, expect De'Vondre Campbell and Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles to fill in alongside star middle linebacker Fred Warner (foot).
