Harris (concussion) announced Monday via his personal Instagram account that he has retired from professional football. Harris spent his first four seasons with the Patriots before suiting up for six games with the Bills in 2023. He had a limited role for the first six weeks of this past season before suffering a concussion and neck injury and spending hte remainder of the campaign on injured reserve. Rather than attempting to play in 2024, the 27-year-old running back will opt to put his health first and retire at a relatively young age. He finishes his career with 2,485 yards from scrimmage and 21 touchdowns across 44 games.

Harris (head/neck) should be healthy before free agency begins this offseason, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports. The 2019 third-round pick signed a one-year contract with the Bills in March 2023 after spending his first four seasons with the division-rival Patriots. Harris then had a small role off the bench for the first six weeks of the season before a scary injury sent him to injured reserve for the remainder of the year. He'll turn 27 in February, a month before he's scheduled to hit free agency again.

The Bills placed Harris (concussion/beck) on injured reserve Friday, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports. Harris now is out for at least the next four games, making Sunday, Nov. 19 against the Jets (Week 11) his earliest possible date to return. The Bills signed Ty Johnson off their practice squad in a corresponding move to help with backfield depth behind James Cook and Latavius Murray.

Harris (concussion/neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Harris was unable to practice this week, and he'll miss Sunday's game, at a minimum. In his absence, the Bills' Week 7 backfield will be led by James Cook and Latavius Murray, with Ty Johnson a candidate to be elevated from the team's practice squad.

Harris (concussion/neck) won't practice Thursday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports. Harris, who is dealing with a concussion and a sprained neck, also missed Wednesday's walkthrough. If the running back ends up being ruled out for Sunday's game against the Patriots, James Cook and Latavius Murray would be in line to pretty much exclusively handle the Bills' Week 7 backfield duties.
