  • Johnson played five of the Bears' 53 snaps on offense and finished with a six-yard reception on his lone target in Sunday's 38-13 loss to the 49ers. Johnson's reception -- his first of the season -- came on the Bears' final drive of the game, when interim head coach Thomas had already subbed out most of Chicago's key players amid the blowout. The 27-year-old remains buried on the depth chart at receiver and will likely play most of his snaps on special teams while Chicago has DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze available.

  • Chicago signed Johnson from its practice squad to the 53-man roster Wednesday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports. Johnson hasn't suited up with the main unit since Week 3 at Indianapolis, but he's now getting a full-time promotion from the practice squad ahead of Week 12. It would probably take an injury to one of DJ Moore, Keenan Allen or Rome Odunze for another Bears wideout to garner much fantasy relevance this season.

    By RotoWire

Johnson reverted to Chicago's practice squad Monday. In his second game this season, Johnson managed to record an assisted tackle while covering a kickoff and also saw two snaps on offense. He could be elevated again next week if Keenan Allen (heel) remains sidelined.

  • Johnson reverted to Chicago's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Johnson played just one offensive snap during Sunday's 19-13 loss at Houston. His prospects of suiting up again in Week 3 might hinge on whether or not Keenan Allen (heel) is available.

  • Chicago signed Johnson to the practice squad Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Johnson started the preseason strong with three catches for 53 yards and two touchdowns in the Hall of Fame Game against the Texans on Aug. 1. He didn't end up playing in the following three preseason contests, and the 2020 fifth-round pick was unable to crack the Bears' 53-man roster. Johnson could get a promotion to the active roster if any of Chicago's wide receiver corps miss time.
