Callaway signed a deal with the Buccaneers' practice squad Tuesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Callaway spent the offseason with the Steelers before being cut at the start of training camp. He quickly found a new opportunity in New Orleans, where he spent his first four seasons, and spent training camp in the Big Easy. However, he was unable to make it through final roster cuts. The fifth-year pass catcher will now look to make an impression with a new NFC South team in Tampa.

The Saints cut Callaway on Sunday. The move is to make room on the Saints' 90-man training camp roster for wide receiver Shaquan Davis. After being let go by Pittsburgh in late July, Callaway returned to New Orleans on Aug. 1 after spending most of the 2023 season on the Saints' practice squad. He played 16 snaps (15 on offense, one on special teams) in Saturday's 16-14 preseason win over the Cardinals, but he was unable to convert on his lone target from quarterback Spencer Rattler late in the fourth quarter. Callaway now will look to earn a spot on another team that is in need of depth at wide receiver.

The Steelers let go of Callaway on Tuesday, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports. Callaway signed with the Steelers on a reserve/future contract in January after finishing the 2023 season on the Saints' practice squad. He played in three regular-season games for New Orleans last year, but did not register a catch across his 27 snaps on offense. Callaway's most productive season came in 202, when he registered 46 catches for 698 yards and six touchdowns across 17 regular-season games with the Saints.

Callaway reverted to the Saints' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction report. Callaway was elevated to New Orleans' practice squad for the third straight game in Week 15 against the Giants. He ultimately saw 12 offensive snaps (21 percent) but failed to draw any targets. The pass catcher will now return to work with the practice squad and await a new opportunity.

The Saints elevated Callaway to the active roster Saturday. It marks the third time Callaway has been promoted from the practice squad since joining Nov. 21. He's played 15 offensive snaps over his two appearances this season without recording a stat.
