Woerner (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos. Woerner was originally concussed in Week 7 against the Seahawks but returned to the game and played each of the following three contests for Atlanta. Perhaps he reported new symptoms earlier this week. Ross Dwelley should fill in as the Falcons' TE2 behind Kyle Pitts.

Woerner (concussion) didn't practice Wednesday. Woerner appears to have sustained a concussion in the Falcons' Week 10 loss to the Saints, despite playing 54 total snaps (36 offensive and 18 on special teams). He will likely need to upgrade to limited work either Thursday or Friday in order to play in Sunday's matchup against the Broncos. Regardless of his practice participation throughout the week, Woerner must clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol in order to suit up in Week 11.

Woerner is being evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return to Sunday's game against Seattle, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Woerner sustained a head injury late in the second quarter of Sunday's game. He'll need to clear the league's five-step concussion protocols before returning for the second half. If Woerner is unable to return, Ross Dwelley would step up as the Falcons' backup tight end behind Kyle Pitts.

Woerner caught one of two targets for four yards during Sunday's 18-10 loss to the Steelers. Known for his blocking prowess, Woerner isn't expected to be involved in the passing game very often. In four seasons with San Francisco, Woerner caught 11 passes (15 targets) for 120 yards. Starting tight end Kyle Pitts played 54 offensive snaps in Week 1, securing all three of his targets for 26 yards and a TD, while Woerner saw only 23 snaps on offense.

Woerner made the Falcons' initial 53-man roster Tuesday, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports. Woerner and Ross Dwelley signed similar contracts this offseason and will open the season as the primary backups to Kyle Pitts. Woerner has a strong blocking acumen and is expected to be heavily involved in the running game, per Josh Kendall of The Athletic. Woerner also has plenty of experience on special teams, playing 1,257 snaps over four seasons in San Francisco.
