The 26-year-old cornerback was limited to just two games in 2023 after suffering a torn ACL in the same knee, though his latest injury is considered unrelated and instead involves damage to the cartilage at the end of his bones in his joint, per Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Diggs is expected to face an eight-month recovery timeline from surgery, so while he'll likely remain out for offseason workouts in the spring, he could be cleared in advance of training camp in late July.

The Alabama product played through his knee injury in Dallas' Week 14 loss to the Bengals, recording five total tackles and three passes defended over 65 defensive snaps. He practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday and Thursday but downgraded to an estimated DNP on Friday, which suggests he's trending in the wrong direction ahead of Week 15.
